Ok, Wontleave...I read over the substance of your argument, and rationale. There were alot of areas in your summary about scholars disagreeing about the timing during the evening part of the start of the Nisan 14, and activities that the Jews involved themselves with.

It didn't convince me that the memorial was to be observed on Nisan 15, when the current Jews observe their Passover.

I didn't see the conclusive proof, but more of a argument to support the Nisan 15 date.

JYD, I wish we could take on some JWs together- I might be up you way this year-

I engaged two Jws in the 1914 junk- and they were still holding on to the 1914 was the year Jesus came into power- Why?- because that is when WW1 started- I wanted to talk about 1920-1925- Millions now living will never die, old light, but I was afraid to tip my hand too much.

So, Mosche You are right ....the Jews do celebrate their Passover on Nisan 15. This is quoted and supported by the references on the web. The JW's don't celebrate the Passover. They celebrate the memorial celebration that was on Nisan 14. This will start after sundown, on April the 5. This Nisan 14 day will not end until the following day, until sundown. Then after sundown, Nisan 15 will commence. The jews will be celebrating their passover celebration then (but they may have already started in the later part of Nisan 14) The memorial was celebrated in the early part of Nisan 14 day cycle.

The Jw's were also right. You both were right. No one was wrong. But, you did disagree with them. Don't you hate that when you argue with someone and find out that you are in agreement. It's just the perception that makes it wrong.

They told me that Passover was on Nisan 14- numerous times- they basically don't have a clue when Jews celebrate Passover- nor do they care.

The one JW came to the conclusion himself, that if Passover is celebrated on the 15th, then they are doing the Memorial on the wrong day.

The safest argument- is to match Memorial to the timing of when Jews celebrate Passover- since Jesus was a Jew and he was observing Passover before he broke bread (well unleavened bread, actually) with his disciples. Where would you get, the same Passover matzah today?- well, on the night of Passover-after the blesssing over the wine (the Kiddush) and blessings over the Matzah have been given- not the day before.

Ha, Ha, Somedays I question whether it's work day, or not. I can't even remember what the colour of my socks are right now.

I enjoy talking with someone that makes me think, This was a good exercise for me. I learned alot about the history, and the Jewish calendar. I wasn't aware that the months were based on Babylonian names, and that it was 13 months long.

By the way, the blood subject is another subject. I do believe that this should be a concience matter left to the person's decision, without penalty.

I do believe that this should be a concience matter left to the person's decision, without penalty.

Please- extend that, no penalty idea, to all JW beliefs and I will be a happy person. Nobody should have to die or lose their family ties over differences in human religious dogma that is forced on JWs from the top down.

    Moshe,

Sounds like you made their meeting a whole lot more interesting.

You may have even awakened a sleeping brother or two.
