I intentionally watched all of the scary movies by myself to see if demons would attack me. Nothing ever happened, so I stopped being afraid of oth scary movies and demons.

I grew up in the 80's where it was the Witness past time to tell "demon" stories.

Seems to me the "Demons" (if they even exist) would love nothing more than to hear a bunch of JW's sitting around talking about all their scary misdeeds. What's the difference if you watch a movie that shows what demons supposedly are capable of, or if you sit around listening to stories about what they did?

As a Kid, I used to question the reasoning that if I watched a scary movie, I'd be inviting demons in, yet all the kids in my school used to dress up as monsters and celebrate halloween every year or play with Ouija boards and never had a problem.

I think it's good to test our fears and overcome them. Especially when we have been brainwashed like the JWs' ideas of the supernatural.

As transhuman68 pointed out, the "scary" parts are simply good special effects. And the older the movie, the lamer the SFX look.

I watched the Exorcist a few months back, that is something I would NEVER have done as a JW.

I have always had a deep aversion to all things occult, so always avoided those sort of films. I watched it with my new found eyes of freedom, it was pretty lame tbh.

The only thing that scares me now is that there ISN'T a God that will make the leaders of the WTBTS pay for their sins!

I saw the Exorcist years ago before I joined the Borg. It was pretty creepy, I don't think I want to see it again. I just don't have any interest in slasher/horror tyoe movies anymore. I prefer raunchy comedies aimed at teenage boys. Harold & Kumar, American Pie - that sort of thing.
