Correct me if I am wrong but nothing gets said at a district convention that isn't word for word in the manuscript provided by headquarters! NOTHING!!!
Speakers are provided a manuscript and someone sits in the audience and follows along to make sure there are no changes.
Lady Lee: There are two types of talks given at the DC. One is a manuscript and the other is an outline. DO's and CO's don't usually give manuscript talks except for the Public Address at the DC. The symposiums are usually Manuscripts as well as the talks with the new releases. I'm not sure exactly which ones are which with regard to the rest of the program, but I do know there are both outlines and manuscripts.

The circuit I belong to, held their assembly in Santa Maria, California (North of Santa Barbara, Ca) and our D/O is Brother Waldo. Was this part of the outline all the D/Os got to upbuild the little sheep, and down play allegations against the "good brother".? The very fact this man used a example that could dissuade victims (brothers and sisters) from coming forward made me sick. I do wish the Watchtower society would muzzle men like brother Waldo. He did not encourage us, I left feeling I will never measure to him, and I am not doing enough to please Jehovah. I would like to post his thoughts on secular education and the new light another speaker gave us regarding pornography. Thank you for reading the post and helping me make sense of this madness, this website is a comfort to the downtrodden souls. God Bless or Good Vibes, whatever works for you or your beliefs, but I want to thank you all!
(metraton) I apprecatiate your skepticism, it was the public talk yesterday 1-22-2012 in Santa Maria, California. My hope is that brother Waldo will change his opening illustration, and this example throughout his talk. If you know anyone in our circuit, you will be able to validate this story by asking them. There were more people at the circuit assembly who witnesseed his talk, than those who watched Jesus Christ ascend into the clouds (Acts 1).

I tend to agree with Sir 82 that this D.O. made up this illustraton on his own. When I was raised in the Witnesses I remember powermonger and controlling District Overseers use really assanine and insane illustrations in order to exercise control and powerful influence on JW audiences. I feel this guy is doing the same thing. Peace out, mr. Flipper

Billy, I have been thinking about what you said all day, about a "smoker" being expelled, while a pedophile might receive, the giant hand of mercy. It now sounds plausible, I still am burning up with anger and my heart is still stuck below my stomach.

This was the first thing that came to my mind also. Remember, the entire GB has been charged with a criminal offence in Australia, related to child abuse.
Personally . . . I think some of us might be surprised at the fall-out. Kim Dotcom (Mega-uploads) is awaiting extradition here in NZ on charges laid under US law. Australia and the USA have an even closer intelligence sharing and extradition agreement than NZ. If the Australian authorities feel obliged to run all the way with these prosecutions, we could be in for a rare treat.
I don't believe this is coincidental or random.
