    Moshe,

    You are dating yourself.

Most people on JWN probably don't remember the Captain, let alone Mr. Green Jeans...

    (I do, however.)

Thanks everybody, how is it we can see what the term generation truly means but the JWs just don't get it?

They get it. You can tell by their body language when you want to talk to them about it.

It appears that my son is the same generation as my grandfather, but I can't find a JW who wants to explain it to me. I am trying.

Yes, the currend "Nooo Light" has a generation equating to about 200 years.

If my generation overlaps with my grandfather (who was born around 1900 and died when I was 15) and my generation overlaps with my grandchildren (who similarly would be 15 when I die) then they would live until 2100 (based on the Biblical 70-80 year lifespan).

So the WT new definition of Generation is about 200 years.

Can you imagine the Governing Body sitting down at a breakfast conference deciding how to explain away the Generation shall not pass away doctrine. When they decided to run with the overlapping explanation they must have thought if the rank and file swallow this they will fall for anything we tell them so let's go for it. It's just the same as when Judge Rutherford bought the mansion placing it in the names of dead princes' yep he thought they'll never see through it.

Funny, the wicked generation in Noah's day didn't overlap. I wonder why not?

00DAD They were too busy interbreeding to notice any overlap

still thinking: So in Noah's day it was the "Interbreeding Generation" that saw all things come to pass. Do I understand that correctly?

    Thank you for clarifying!
