Do You Think JWs Are Realizing That They Have Been Duped?

I think that many of them begrudgingly admit that they ARE going to die. They are not going to live in a Paradise with all the animals, blah, blah, blah.

I think that even if they won't speak out about it, it has to do more than just cross their minds.

    Nobody likes to be duped.

No, many will give up this life for that one later. They believe in a resurrection. Does it matter when it happens? Not if your dead it doesn't.

    Nope.

98% of them will go to their graves believing that Watchtower is 'God's Organization' and there isn't anything we can do about it.

We're the lucky ones, we've escaped.

I think the JW religion is the biggest duping of all time. The Mormans although as equally wacky had the sense to make their relgion more mainline and not be so apocalyptic. No other apocalyptic group has been as large as the JW religion. The JW's ask people to give up alot of their life and personal freedoms for the cult. Mainline religions don't ask as much from a person. As long as this sham has been strung out and the teachings changed.....you have to believe that alot of JW's are realizing they have been duped by the WTS.

I tend to see my mom at 85 realizing things. She KNOWS she won't get into Paradise. That statement never would've been made even 10 years ago. Her sister who died last year, believed she'd make it into the Great Tribulation the day before she died.

She KNOWS she won't get into Paradise.

Ask her if she will be resurrected into Paradise.

I was an elder when 1975 came and went and NOTHING HAPPENED.

It was actually discussed among the elders secretly from the congregation.

I would say that most elders ignored the fact that nothing happened - and many actually said that it was a "test from Jehovah" to see how many JWs would fall away. I heard one pathetically comment that maybe the real end would come in, say, 1977 just to see who remained faithful.

Seriously - they were actually saying that Jehovah - through the one true channel of the Watchtower and Freddy Franz - was TESTING HIS PEOPLE THROUGH A FALSE PROPHECY!!!

I think at least 90% of the witnesses (and at least 98% of their elders) are too brainwashed to realize anything - let alone that they are being duped.

Good question! It might just be my impression but JWs are not as self-confident and cocky as I remember when I was young. Back in the 1980s and early 1990s they really believed the end was going to come any day, and importantly they had the "generation" teaching to prove it. Now they just have a vaugue sense that the end will come soon, and the new "generation" teaching, to the extent that anyone even understands it, is a complete embarrassment. I think many older ones especially do realise on some level that they have been duped.

If someone could product evidence indicating that more than 20% do NOT carry a blood card, I would change my opinion.

Carrying a Suicide Card = Duped
