Do You Think JWs Are Realizing That They Have Been Duped?

James_woods said,
they were actually saying that Jehovah...was TESTING HIS PEOPLE THROUGH A FALSE PROPHECY!!!
I always found remarks like that troubling, and now it makes me smile and shake my head; JWs will make every excuse they can think of to keep the Society propped up as God's Oranization in their own minds. The rationalizing never stops.
It would be so nice if they judged their own religion by the same standards they judged other religions by. Any other religion that engaged in false prophecy would be promptly condemned by them, but when they do it they say Jehovah is testing them. Yikes!
It has gone way beyond ridiculous. Not having to be around people who think like that is a very positive thing and a great relief.

No, they don't realize it at all. As Leaving WT said 98 % of them, perhaps 99 % ! In dealing with my older JW parents in a family crisis this winter I had hoped that they at least had 20 % of their authentic human personality left as they had joined the JW cult in their mid 20's. But having been in it over 60 years now in their 80's - it's 98 % to 99 % JW cult personality in them for sure after events happened proving that to me. They and 7 million other JW's are TOTALLY duped. WT society leaders should be brought up on criminal charges of extortion . Leaders of the JW cult are every bit as dangerous as Jim Jones or David Koresh who led their followers to death and suicide. It's just that the WT society leaders are more subtle about HOW they exercise psychological mind control over members - so most non-Witnesses don't call them on it unless you're an ex-Witness who is aware of the control tactics. Although being more subtle than Jim Jones or David Koresh- the WT leaders are every bit as dangerous.
The control they wield over many JW's is downright scary. Painting themselves as " God's spokesman " - if the WT society leaders told followers to jump- most JW's would ask how far without batting an eye. I've got to get my adult daughters out of this cult someday

I think that many of them begrudgingly admit that they ARE going to die. They are not going to live in a Paradise with all the animals, blah, blah, blah.
I am well acquainted with a very prominent Elder (former Bethelite, Dist Conv speaker, Sub-CO, Special Comm) who came to the conclusion in 1995 after the "generation" New Lite then, and after lunch the a GB Member discussing it, that he and his wife and everyone their age, were going to die "on this side". He lost NO faith in the Organization. He never missed a beat. And indeed, they both died within the past 5 years.
He was crushed. Stunned. HIS PARENTS had been faithful JWs most or all of their lives and had expected to see The End in their lifetime as well. Now he had the awakening that he and his wife (they had decided to forego having children in the critical Last Days) would also die before seeing The End.
A generation cometh. A generation goeth. And an overlapping generation goeth too.
Still he never admitted to doubting the WTS.

Some are realizing this.
Most are not.
Some who start to see things as they are go into denial because the reality is too humiliating and painful to handle.

There's enough imposing fear put into JWS minds regarding their faith and devotion to the Borg (WTS.) that most
haven't the faintest idea whats been done to them and why its being done.
Their so called self described selectively god chosen organization is really a cunning and deceiving religious publishing house, where men cultivated
their semblance of power and control with the inclusion of continuing financial support by people.
Be afraid folks for the great day of Armageddon is soon to fall upon all mankind..........really .

Most are clueless and prefer the comfort of their beliefs. Who doesn't want to feel "special".

If someone could product evidence indicating that more than 20% do NOT carry a blood card, I would change my opinion.
Various studies have fairly consistently found that around 10% of Jehovah's Witnesses will accept whole blood. Check out the wikipedia page on Jehovah's Witnesses and blood transfusion for references under the heading "acceptance amoing Jehovah's Witnesses".
The take up rate for the longer form the elders tried to push on people the past few years (forget what it was called) was very poor indeed. I remember an elder stating from the platform that less than half the congregation had filled it out, half disappointed, half resigned.

"Various studies have fairly consistently found that around 10% of Jehovah's Witnesses will accept whole blood."
If 10% admitted this, the number is probably even higher. (I would guess that immoral sex is far more popular than whole blood treatment.)
Yet, these blood-accepting, fornicating JWs still believe that it's God's Organization. So, I suppose we should define 'duped'.
One can believe that WT is wrong about a particular doctrine/rule, yet firmly believe that all other religions are from Satan, and that salvation can only be gained by being one of Jehovah's Witnesses.
