Stopped in a local eatery this evening for their famous vegetarian enchilada casserole and there was a man in there, an elder in a local congregation who I was aquatinted with (he did some work for me at my home) and we know his wife. He was in the same congregation I was in for a time.

I went over to him to say hi and shake his hand and when I reached out he pulled his hand away so I looked over at his partner who was obviously a bible study and reached out to shake his hand and as I did I said to him “the reason he won’t shake my hand is that he’s mad because I don’t go to meetings anymore. I walked away and nothing else was said.

Just like the way Jesus would always have to slink away from Satan and would avoid having to face any of the Pharisees.

    ... No, wait...

In the Big Book of Jewish Fables it was Satan, the demons, and the Pharisees that were scared of confronting Jesus and would slink away from him.

Silly JWs, they don't realize how their conduct follows the example of the "Bible Bad Guys".

Trouble with your parting shot is the elder is then "free" to portray you any way he likes to the other guy after you've gone. However, the statisfaction you felt may well have been worth it.

Imagine, though, if you had played dumb when he pulled his hand away and instead complimented him by saying:

"Your hygiene awareness is so admirable. But fear not, my friend, my hands are perfectly clean - I've just scrubbed them in preparation for a delicious vegetarian enchilada. Yum. Mind if I join you and your friend for a bite?"

Just wow, people are so ridiculous and over dramatic. That's just some old juvenile crap on the part of the Elder. Acting like a little kid, rude and nasty.

I've seen two witnesses since I've been disfellowshipped a few weeks ago and I walked right by and keep doing my thing, because I know how silly and dumb acting they can be.

Not only that, I don't have respect for individuals who can't reason and think for themselves. If I haven't done anything wrong/foul toward you then you 'personally' have no justification to not speak. If the society tells you not to speak to be and you don't even know the specific reason why, then you are clueless and I can't be wasting my time dealing with individuals who can't or refuse to use their own common sense.

hopefully the 'bible study' thinks about this shunning in action,,though he will be told how horrible you are. If the 'bible study' 'thinks' at least a little yet, he will be able to re-think it all. If he is somewhat good hearted, he will see it as shameful.
