    Flying High,

I saw the WHO perform Tommy and Quadrophenia in NY. It was thrilling. My all time devotion remains with McCartney. I find the WHO better than the Stones. Pete and Roger will be touring this year. Every concert I've attended has been superb. They make it clear why they are rock legends. I was partial to Pete's music from the start. Daltrey is an awesome showman. Pete revealed that they've attended many years of couple counseling together. The personal dynamics should be fun b/c Townshend's bio is due to hit the shelfs. Daltrey said he is not looking forward to reading it.

They were worth the thousands of dollars I paid for tickets from a broker. The WHO gave me comp tickets b/c I was too ill to compete in getting tkts at the box office. The bummer was their atrocious Superbowl performance. So I am eagerly looking forward to early reviews of the tour.

I am certain they will do large chunks of Tommy and Quadrophenia. Ringo's son is their drummer. Pete's brother was added to compensate for Pete lack of hearing. Go see them. They may not come around another time.

Paul McCartney is coming, too. I need a massive transfusion of cash. Worth every cent times 1 billion. The WHO are better at driving rock and roll.

McCartney now does mostly Beatles music. He drifts off onto his very unpopular, mediocre songs. People stop standing on their chairs, flashing cigarette lighters. It is bathroom break. Night and day. He has to see the mass exodus for a smoke and b/room break. After what seems like an eternity, he returns to his main body of work. Very nice stage presence. Wholesome yet edgy.

There are a lot I would love to see, but I have seen...

Metallica (x3), Sabbath (x2), Van Halen, Slayer, Motorhead, Clutch (x3), Black Label Society, Slash, Steve Miller, Elton John, Billy Joel, Lamb of God, Valiant Thor, Aerosmith, BB King, Tom Jones and some others I am sure I don't remember.

The actual SOUND of singing in the majority of "famous" concerts was apallingly awful. Stadiums fer Christ sakes??!!

I saw Elton John and Billy Joel at Texas stadium and the sound was absolutely execrable!

Fans screaming at the Shea Stadium during the performances is what convinced the Beatles to stop doing live tours in the first place!

    Nobody was listening.

I find that the whole "fan" experience is rather unpleasant.

The last concert I went to was a Steely Dan at a Nokia theatre and the venue was perfect!

If all the famous concerts were in such well-designed locations I might select one particular historic one.

But, knowing how bad the sound was---I'll pass.

I've known several people who attended Woodstock and said that about 10% of the audience could hear anything worth hearing.

    So much for the legend.
