  "Is it later than you think? is a code phrase that has nothing to do with the end of the system. It is a personal question directed at you to get you to examine if you are in a post thinking era of your life. "Later than you think" means you have given up thinking, having laid that burden on brothers in the society, celebrated scholars who do your thinking for you. So the meaning of that question is to determine if you have progressed to that state of bliss.
