Joe- How does your country's health plan work for people needing drug rehab..

I don't know much about that I'm afraid. The NHS does have drug/alcohol abuse counselling and advisory services including home visits, there are NHS rehab units. GPs deal with this as part of their general healthcare, and of course some people are dealt with under the NHS mental health provisions (whether as in- or out-patients).

And there are, of course, many private clinics and facilities, some of which would be covered by private medical insurance plans.

At first, I admit, I had Ms. Houston confused with other singers.

I think she was probably one of the nicer individuals within the contemporary music scene, as an artist there is no question that she has endorsed, or at least permitted, an immoral brand of sex and sensuality to be used to sell her music. While no where near as brazen as Madonna, aren't videos like "Saving All My Love for You", a blatant celebration of adultery, just another, more subtle side of the same coin?A coin that has now taken her life.

LOL OMG, LOL. I swear you remind me of the scene in No Country for OLd Men when Carson asks Anton if he's aware of just how crazy he is, and Anton replies, "You mean the nature of this conversation?" Carson replies, "No, I mean the nature of you."

Whitney's songs played at my prom, which I was allowed to attend. Both my parents loved school dances, and they wanted me to attend the prom. No, I wasn't allowed to date until I was 18 . .. . but I was allowed to go with a friend to the prom. So, Whitney's songs are really good memories to me. "I want to dance with somebody . . . " Those were teenaged years, in the mid 80s. Bubble gum songs to match my neon shirts and parachute pants.

Then, in the early 90s, I was a twenty-something and saw Bodyguard. Wow, what a voice. Whitney and I had both grown up. So, Whitney became a breathtaking singer to me, just because of her voice. I'd like to remember her that way.

But, somewhere in the 90s, Whitney went, abused by her thug husband. Toni Braxton was the next rage. I bought Toni's CDs and became a Toni fan.

And, eventually Whitney's light didn't grow brighter. She lost her voice, due to hard living. I know of a person who met her, and didn't have good things to say about Ms. Houston. Basically, Bobbie Brown was her match.

I don't want to think about that. I just want to go back to that movie theater that showed Bodyguard. Both Whitney and I had more brains and taste then we did in the 80s. But, hey, isn't "I want to dance with somebody" a catch toon? Perhaps she's dancing in heaven with Ray Charles?

TMZ is reporting that her last song was with Prince. Maybe she'll dance in Paradise?

skeeter: I get so emotional when I hear the music from the late Whitney. Thank you for posting the video, while bringing me back, some fun memories of the very early 1990s, when her spirit and music had not been tainted!

My post was to remind all of us, that "Life is so dam short" and hopefully we are able to learn, from her mistake. Avoid rotten people, avoid those who thrive off our misery and those who fail to make us fly! Can someone post the lyrics to "Did'nt We Almost Have It All?" When I try to "copy and paste" I post a double post, don't want that now! Kind thoughts and Good Vibes to all on JWN!
