Sulla I see a question but I don't know if it is for me and if it is, I don't know what it means.

It was a little joke about your typo, N.drew. "Discrete" means, like, chunky instead of smooth-continuous. To be honest, it was funnier in my head.

Education is vital. It goes with "way" and "life". Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." John 14:6
But if the Watchtower is saying THEY are the way truth life, are not they opposing Jesus?
If people are fooled into following them, they won't find the life Christ has. No life equals death.
It is a good thing to announce they lie. How is it a bad thing to expose lies?

Oh continuous Haha! Discreet. Google says it isn't a typo. Lots of people like me Spelling is not something I do well. Google says it means distinct or separate and I suppose they are that too. !!

Troubled Mind and JWfacts have it just right.
I was out of the JWs from about the time I was 25 until I was 65. For forty years I didn't much give a shit about the JWs. As far as I was concerned they could live their lives and I'd live mine. For the most part it could have been a peaceful breakup. But during that time the Watchtower:
1. Contributed to the breakup of my marriage.
2. Established and enforced their shunning policy, severely damaging my relationships with my parents, a sibling, and other relatives.
3. Destroyed the potential of several friends and co-workers by denying them an education and taking away their desire to succeed in business.
4. Forced healthy young people to lose their will to grow or expand their lives, eventually finding themselves at a dead-end by the time they were in their thirties.
5. Created an environment where children are brainwashed and held back, living on biblical fairy tales, denied the joys of childhood, and abused mentally and physically.
6. Proclaimed that they were the true religion, inspired by holy spirit, doing Jehovah's will, and leading the most loving organization on earth - when none of those things were true.
By the time I was 65, I felt that I could no longer just ignore what the Watchtower was and what it had done. I had to do my part in some way to expose them for what they are.
My methods may be crude, unappreciated, and ultimately a waste of my time and effort. But if only one person finds freedom and leaves the Watchtower because of something I have written or published - then for me all of my effort will have been worth it.
If even one other person reads my material and chooses not to be converted and/or baptized into the Watchtower cult - then from my point of view I've earned some bonus points.
I'm out and will never go back. But it's no longer just about me - it's really about those few people who I might have educated along the way who won't end up having their lives and families destroyed.

If JWN did not read the new magazines and examine all the books and brochures, who would? This is a bold statement, but in my little time on earth (50 years) less than ten percent of the Dubs, kept up with all the magazines. How can you place magazines at the doors of others, that you don't read yourself? "Their lips praise me, but their hearts are far away!" This type of attitude, is what grieves Jehovah's Holy Spirit! If there are gross errors in the magazines, do you believe anyone other than JWN, will point them out? I would say NO! Errors would be preceived as "New Light" and all Stepford children woud knod in agreement!

"but it seems that those that were once Jehovah's Witnesses on this forum have made an irreversible decision about avoiding their prior faith and have constituted themselves as an enemy to Jehovah's Witnesses."
I was a Jehovah's Witness. I don't think my decision is irreversible and I don't consider myself an enemy to Jehovah's Witnesses.
Only yesterday I met an elders wife in the supermarket and we chatted. I recently spoke to several other Witnesses who are regular attenders. I had a brother who is a relative come round for a meal recently and I do work for Witnesses.
I disagree with some of their teachings and I won't support them in their preaching about 1914. I know of others who actively go in service but avoid any talk regarding the significance of 1914. I can't do that. I think that Jehovah's Witnesses are proclaimers of the kingdom established in 1914.
The mistakes that have been made regarding certain dates and the general denial of things that have been said has made me question the bigger things.
The reasons I visit this site are varied. Mostly to challenge my views.
I hope for change.

"If ignorant both of your enemy and yourself, you are certain to be in peril."
- Sun Tzu, The Art of Warin posting this quote i do not view JW's as my enemy but rather as skinned sheep being governed by wolves and may in the near future desperatly need the help of informed ex jw. I read so i know what the WTS is trying to indoctrinate my children with.
Celestial one thing i know in life is everyone is entitled to their own taste in music, literature and entertainment. As a kid i loved and still do the whole Dungeons and Dragons experience. My parents had sessions of book burning as they uncovered my stashs of "occult" books. At least my D&D books didnt pretend to be real they were just created fiction unlike the WTS.

The trouble for you celestial is that you were not 'rebelleous' in youth, you were supressed and squashed into a small box that you are now trying to burst out from so that your authentic self can thrive as it was always meant to.
If you keep doing what you have always done, you will get what you always get. so rebuilding your spirituality isnt working, perhaps its time to try something else...like being your authentic self. JW spirituality isnt related to spiritual things but rather a corporation, which is why its not working.
As for hanging around here reading literature from what i call the actual evil slave class, it has after 12 years of ignoring the watchtower, been so very important in helping me see why i must do all i can do help guide my children OUT of this corrupt hypocritical man made multinational printing corporation.
cheers

oh, and lay off the grog. Stop using it to hide from what you know: the Watchtower is all lies.

Hi troubled mind. Do you say "there is no evil slave class" because the Bible is not true? Or do you have inside information?
Originally, the WT defined the "evil slave" as those of "the annointed" who turned against Christ (or the Organization, one and the same, right?).
Now, since anyone who was one of "the annointed" by the WTS own original definition (sealed before 1935) is DEAD, how can there be any of the "evil slave" class still alive?
Obviously you are refering to the "overlapping evil slave class" members!
