    FAITHFUL ONES OF OLD

    —GUIDED BY GOD’S SPIRIT

“The Sovereign Lord Jehovah himself has sent me, even his spirit.”—ISA. 48:16.

    OPENING COMMENTS

What a load……..does the holy spirit only come through the WTS?

    *** w88 12/1 p.25***

Furthermore, Jehovah’s active force works effectively for our benefit because a framework has been set up, an earthly organization, through which the holy spirit operates. At 1 Corinthians chapter 12, Paul likens the Christian congregation to a body and states in verse 7: “But the manifestation of the spirit is given to each one for a beneficial purpose.” He goes on to show how we benefit from being part of God’s earthly organization.

    *** km 4/05 p.8 par.1 ***

Our goal in conducting Bible studies is not only to teach doctrinal information but also to help students become part of the Christian congregation. (Zech. 8:23) The brochure Jehovah’s Witnesses—Who Are They? What Do They Believe? can help us to do this. Place a copy with new Bible students, and encourage them to read it. In addition, take a few minutes each week on the study to share a point about Jehovah’s organization.

    START OF ARTICLE

1, 2. What is needed in order to demonstrate faith,

and what encouragement will we find by considering

    faithful ones of old?

THOUGH it has been in evidence since

the days of Abel, “faith is not a possession

of all people.” (2 Thess. 3:2) So why

does a person have this quality, and what enables

him to be faithful? To a large extent,

faith follows the things heard from God’s

Word. (Rom. 10:17) It is an aspect of the

fruitage of God’s holy spirit. (Gal. 5:22,

    23) Therefore, to demonstrate and exercise

    faith, we need holy spirit.

    COMMENTS

Does the OT describe people as “receiving” holy spirit in the same way as jws feel they do? Did Abel or does the WTS read something into the bible that is not in it?

    *** HOLY SPIRIT chap. 4 p. 67 par. 22 ***

Abel must have had a measure of holy spirit, for he had one of its fruits, namely, faith.

Does God speak directly to jws like he did Abraham?

(Genesis 17:1) 17 When A′bram got to be ninety-nine years old, then Jehovah appeared to A′bram and said to him: “I am God Almighty. Walk before me and prove yourself faultless.

2 It would be a mistake to conclude that

men and women of faith are born that way,

that faith comes naturally. The exemplary

servants we read about in the Bible were people

“with feelings like ours.” (Jas. 5:17) They

had doubts, insecurities, and weaknesses but

“were made powerful” by God’s spirit to face

challenges. (Heb. 11:34) By considering how

Jehovah’s spirit operated on them, we today

will be encouraged to continue in our course

of faithfulness, living as we do at this time

when our faith is under attack.

    COMMENTS

So who is concluding that anyone is born “that way.”

Are doubts then a reason to be suspicious of jws who have them? Are all doubts bad?

    ***w01 7/1 pp. 18 Doubt—Is It Always Bad?

Of course, not all doubt is bad. At times, you need to suspend acceptance of something till you are sure of the facts. Religious exhortations to the effect that you should just believe and should doubt nothing are dangerous and deceptive. True, the Bible says that love “believes all things.” (1 Corinthians 13:7) A loving Christian is certainly ready to believe those who have proved trustworthy in the past. But God’s Word also warns against ‘putting faith in every word.’ (Proverbs 14:15) Sometimes a person’s past record gives legitimate reason for doubt. “Although [the deceptive talker] makes his voice gracious,” the Bible warns, “do not believe in him.”—Proverbs 26:24, 25.

The apostle John also warns Christians against blind belief. “Do not believe every inspired expression,” he writes. Rather, “test the inspired expressions to see whether they originate with God.” (1 John 4:1) An “expression,” a teaching or opinion, might appear to emanate from God. But did it really come from him? Exercising some doubt, or suspending belief, can be a real protection because, as the apostle John says, “many deceivers have gone forth into the world.”—2 John 7.

    God’s Spirit Empowered Moses

3-5. (a) How do we know that Moses acted with

the help of holy spirit? (b)What does Moses’ example

teach us about Jehovah’s giving his spirit?

3 Of all humans alive in 1513 B.C.E., Moses

was “by far the meekest.” (Num. 12:3)

    This mild-tempered servant was entrusted

with enormous responsibility in the nation

of Israel. God’s spirit empowered Moses to

prophesy, judge, write, lead, and perform

miracles. (Read Isaiah 63:11-14.) Yet, at one

point, Moses lamented that the load was

simply too heavy. (Num. 11:14, 15) So Jehovah

took “away some of the spirit” that was

upon Moses and put it on 70 others to help

carry the workload. (Num. 11:16, 17) Although

Moses’ load seemed too heavy, he

had, in fact, not been carrying it alone—neither

would the 70 who were appointed to assist

    him carry it alone.

    COMMENTS

So if Moses was the meekest why did this even keep him out of the Promised Land?

(Exodus 17:2-4) 2 And the people fell to quarreling with Moses and saying: “Give us water that we may drink.” But Moses said to them: “Why are YOU quarreling with me? Why do YOU keep putting Jehovah to the test?” 3 And the people went on thirsting there for water, and the people kept murmuring against Moses and saying: “Why is it that you have brought us up out of Egypt to put us and our sons and our livestock to death by thirst?” 4 Finally Moses cried out to Jehovah, saying: “What shall I do with this people? A little longer and they will stone me!”

(Deuteronomy 32:48-52) 48 And Jehovah proceeded to speak to Moses on this same day, saying: 49 “Go up into this mountain of Ab′a ? rim, Mount Ne′bo, which is in the land of Mo′ab, which fronts toward Jer′i ? cho, and see the land of Ca′naan, which I am giving to the sons of Israel as a possession. 50 Then die on the mountain into which you are going up, and be gathered to your people, just as Aaron your brother died on Mount Hor and got to be gathered to his people; 51 for the reason that YOU men acted undutifully toward me in the middle of the sons of Israel at the waters of Mer′i ?bah of Ka′desh in the wilderness of Zin; for the reason that YOU men did not sanctify me in the middle of the sons of Israel. 52 For from a distance you will see the land, but you will not go there into the land that I am giving to the sons of Israel.”

Does the GB think that eventually only other sheep will be in charge on earth?

    *** w90 8/15 p.31***

The destruction of Babylon the Great is part of the great tribulation. (Matthew 24:21; Revelation 7:14) So it could be reasoned that some of the bride class will survive the great tribulation as evidence of Jehovah’s approval and protection. (Zephaniah 2:3; compare Matthew 24:22.) If they are thus preserved on earth, they could remain here until God chooses to take them to heaven.

4 Moses had been given holy spirit sufficient

for the task. After the change, Moses

still had all the spirit that he needed. Moses

did not have too little, and the 70 older men

did not have too much. Jehovah supplies as

much of his spirit as we need, according to

our circumstances. “He does not give the

spirit by measure” but gives “from out of his

    fullness.”—John 1:16; 3:34.

    COMMENTS

What about women, did they have holy spirit?

    *** g75 1/8 p.23***

godly prophetesses awaiting the Messiah, women like Miriam, Deborah, Huldah and Anna?—Ex. 15:20, 21; Judg. 4:4-7; 2 Ki. 22:14-20; Luke 2:36-38.

5 Are you enduring trials? Are legitimate

demands on your time increasing? Are you

striving to provide for the spiritual and physical

needs of your family while coping with

rising expenses or anxieties over health? Are

you carrying weighty responsibilities in the

congregation? Be assured that by means of

his spirit, God can give you the strength

you need to cope with any situation.—Rom.

    15:13.

    COMMENTS

So what are “legitimate” demands? Who decides, the elders, the COs, the DOs, the GB?

What comes first providing physically and spiritually for your own family or the congregation? How many elders failed to provide for their own families who fell by the wayside?

    Holy Spirit Made Bezalel Qualified

6-8. (a) What did God’s spirit enable Bezalel and

Oholiab to do? (b) What shows that Bezalel and

Oholiab were guided by God’s spirit? (c)Why is Bezalel’s

    experience particularly encouraging?

6 The experience of Moses’ contemporary

Bezalel reveals much about the way God’s

spirit can operate. (Read Exodus 35:30-35.)

Bezalel was appointed to take the lead in

making the necessary furnishings for the

tabernacle. Did he have knowledge of crafts

prior to this vast project? Possibly, but in all

likelihood his most recent job was that of

making bricks for the Egyptians. (Ex. 1:13,

    14) So how would Bezalel fulfill his complicated

task? Jehovah “proceeded to fill him

with the spirit of God in wisdom, in understanding

and in knowledge and in every

sort of craftsmanship and for designing devices

. . . to make ingenious products of

every sort.” Whatever natural aptitude Bezalel

may have had was enhanced by holy

spirit. The same is true of Oholiab. Bezalel

and Oholiab must have learned well, for

they not only performed their duties but

also taught others what to do. Yes, God put it

    into their hearts to teach.

    COMMENTS

Notice again the WTS interprets and adds to the bible:

Did he have knowledge of crafts prior…POSSIBLY, but IN ALL LIKELIHOOD

Wasn’t it enough to have some knowledge and enhanced, did he have to have none?

    WHATEVER NATURAL APTITUDE…may have had

7 Another testimony that Bezalel and

Oholiab were guided by God’s spirit is the

amazing durability of their work. Their productions

were still in use some 500 years

    later. (2 Chron. 1:2-6) Unlike modern-day

manufacturers, Bezalel and Oholiab had no

interest in leaving their signature or trademark

on their work. All credit went to Jehovah

    for their accomplishments.—Ex. 36:1, 2.

    COMMENTS

Remember that these productions were mostly out of sight and only handled by a few people. The pyramids are still here and the temple and the works of the men above are gone.

So how many put their name to their work…What I do find when visiting congregations that it hardly takes 3 minutes before all the elders are pointed out to me…but no older jws are given the same honor.

8 Today, we may be faced with daunting

tasks requiring special skills, such as building,

    printing, organizing conventions, administering

    disaster relief, and communicating

    with doctors and hospital personnel

about our Scriptural position on the use of

blood. At times, these deeds are performed

by skilled workers, but more often they are

carried out by volunteers without much

background in a specific field. God’s spirit

makes their efforts succeed. Have you held

back from accepting an assignment in Jehovah’s

service, feeling that others were more

    qualified than you? Remember, Jehovah’s

spirit can enhance your knowledge and abilities

and help you to fulfill any assignment

    he gives you.

    COMMENTS

So women, how many worked in building, printing, organizing conventions, administering disaster relief, communicating with doctors? Evidently, these are more important than the preaching work that Jesus said was most important. How many of these special skills did Jesus emphasize.

How many kingdom halls were built by unskilled volunteers that had to be done over due to mold in the walls, carpet peeling up, leaky hot water heaters?

Joshua Succeeded With the Help of God’s Spirit

    9. In what circumstance did the Israelites find

themselves after the Exodus, and what question

    arose?

    9 God’s spirit also guided a contemporary

of Moses and Bezalel. Shortly after the

Exodus, the Amalekites launched an unprovoked

attack on God’s people. The time

had come for the Israelites to repel the

    threat. Although totally unaccustomed to

war, the Israelites had to engage in their first

    military action as a freed people. (Ex. 13:17;

17:8) Someone was needed to lead the fighting

    force. Who would it be?

    COMMENTS

So is the WTS saying there will ever be a time that jws, skilled or unskilled will kill non-jws. Did the holy spirit give them the skill to kill babies?

(Joshua 10:38-39)38 Finally Joshua and all Israel with him came back to De′bir and began to war against it. 39 And he got to capture it and its king and all its towns, and they went striking them with the edge of the sword and devoting every soul that was in it to destruction. He did not let a survivor remain.. . .

    10. Why did the Israelites under Joshua prove victorious

    in combat?

10 Joshua was chosen. But if he had to state

his previous work experience to qualify for

that mission, what could he have listed?

Slave laborer? Straw mixer? Manna gatherer?

    True, Joshua’s grandfather Elishama was

chieftain of the tribe of Ephraim and apparently

led 108,100 men of one of the three tribe

    divisions of Israel. (Num. 2:18, 24;

    1 Chron. 7:26, 27) Yet, Jehovah directed

through Moses that, neither Elishama nor

his son Nun, but Joshua was to lead the force

that would vanquish the enemy. The battle

lasted the greater part of a day. With Joshua’s

implicit obedience and his keen appreciation

for the guidance of God’s holy spirit,

    Israel proved victorious.—Ex.17:9-13.

    COMMENTS

So elders today will be killing people for God….including children?

What about Joshua’s excursion in the Promised Land initially, he didn’t learn military skills then?

Does the WTS expect jws to be able to “preach” effectively without training just relying on special “holy spirit”?

    11. How can we succeed in sacred service as Joshua

    did?

11 Later Joshua, “full of the spirit of wisdom,”

    succeeded Moses. (Deut. 34:9) Holy

spirit did not produce in him the ability to

prophesy or to perform miracles as it had in

Moses, but it did enable Joshua to lead Israel

in the military campaign that brought

about the conquest of Canaan. Today, we

may feel inexperienced or underqualified to

carry out certain aspects of our sacred service.

Yet, like Joshua, we are assured of success

if we adhere closely to divine instruction.—

    Josh.1:7-9.

    COMMENTS

No miracles for Joshua; what about the sun standing still?

(Joshua 10:12) 12 It was then that Joshua proceeded to speak to Jehovah on the day of Jehovah’s abandoning the Am′or ? ites to the sons of Israel, and he went on to say before the eyes of Israel: “Sun, be motionless over Gib′e ? on, And, moon, over the low plain of Ai′ja ? lon.”

Divine instruction = WTS instruction only

    “Jehovah’s Spirit Enveloped Gideon”

12-14. (a) That 300 men could rout the overwhelming

Midianite horde reveals what? (b) How

did Jehovah reassure Gideon? (c) We receive what

    divine reassurance today?

12 After Joshua’s death, Jehovah continued

to demonstrate how his power can

strengthen faithful ones. The book of Judges

is replete with accounts of humans who

“from a weak state were made powerful.”

(Heb. 11:34) By means of holy spirit, God

impelled Gideon to fight in behalf of His

people. (Judg. 6:34) The army Gideon assembled,

    however, was outnumbered by the

Midianite menace 4 to 1. In Jehovah’s eyes

even that small Israelite regiment was far too

numerous. He twice decreed that Gideon

scale back the army until the enemy outnumbered

    Israelite fighters 450 to 1. (Judg. 7:2-8; 8:10)

These were odds that Jehovah favored.

If a stunning victory was to take place,

who could brag that it was wrought by human

    effort or wisdom?

    COMMENTS

How many judges were faithful? How many of their sons provide to be faithful?

13 Gideon and his troops were almost

ready. Had you been part of that little band,

would you have felt secure in the knowledge

that your company had now been pruned of

its fearful and less-than-vigilant ones? Or

would you have had a twinge of trepidation

as you contemplated how matters might

work out? We do not have to guess how Gideon

felt. He did what he was told to do!

(Read Judges 7:9-14.) Jehovah did not reproach

Gideon for having asked for a sign

as evidence that God would be with him.

(Judg. 6:36-40) Rather, he strengthened Gideon’s

    faith.

    COMMENTS

So are jws going to be “pruned”?

Can jws today ask for a “sign” especially since the signs from the WTS have proven false: 1874, 1914, 1915, 1920, 1925, 1940’s, 1975, 1984, 1994…

    http://jwfacts.com/watchtower/1800s.php

14 Jehovah’s power to save is infinite. He

can deliver his people from any predicament,

even doing so by using those who appear

weak or helpless. Sometimes we may

feel outnumbered or in desperate straits. We

do not expect miraculous affirmation such

as Gideon received, but we can draw abundant

    guidance and reassurance from God’s

Word and through his spirit-directed congregation.

    (Rom. 8:31, 32) Jehovah’s loving

promises fortify our faith and convince us

that he really is our Helper!

    COMMENTS

Save is infinite – but only if you are a baptized jw

    *** w89 9/1 p.19 par.7**

Only Jehovah’s Witnesses , those of the anointed remnant and the “great crowd,” as a united organization under the protection of the Supreme Organizer, have any Scriptural hope of surviving the impending end of this doomed system dominated by Satan the Devil. (Revelation 7:9-17; 2 Corinthians 4:4) They will make up the “flesh” that Jesus Christ said would be saved through the worst tribulation of all human history.

No miraculous affirmation? So are jws not going to be saved when Gog reaches out?

“Jehovah’s Spirit Now Came Upon Jephthah”

    15, 16. Why did Jephthah’s daughter have a fine

attitude, and how is this encouraging to parents?

15 Consider another example. When the

Israelites had to confront the Ammonites in

battle, Jehovah’s spirit “came upon Jephthah.”

Eager for victory to Jehovah’s praise,

Jephthah made a vow that proved costly. He

vowed that if God gave Ammon into Jephthah’s

hand, the first one to come out of the

door when he returned home would be Jehovah’s.

    As Jephthah returned from subduing

Ammon, his daughter came running to

meet him. (Judg. 11:29-31, 34) Did this

come as a surprise to Jephthah? Not likely,

for he had but one child. He fulfilled his vow

by devoting his daughter to exclusive service

at Jehovah’s sanctuary at Shiloh. Being a loyal worshipper

    of Jehovah, Jephthah’s daughter

was convinced that her father’s vow

should be carried out. (Read Judges 11:

36.) Jehovah’s spirit gave both of them the

    strength they needed.

    COMMENTS

So does this mean that jws sacrifice their daughters to an unmarried life as regular pioneers?

So if Jephthah was not surprised; why did he not make a different vow. Notice that his daughter paid the vow, much like David’s wives were raped because of his sin.

16 How had Jephthah’s daughter developed

such a spirit of self-sacrifice? No doubt

her faith was built up as she observed her father’s

zeal and godly devotion. Parents, your

example does not go unnoticed by your children.

    Your decisions communicate that you

believe what you say. Your children observe

how your fervent prayers and effective

teaching combine with your example of

what it means to serve Jehovah with a complete

heart. As your children do so, they will

likely develop a strong desire to make themselves

available to Jehovah for his service.

This is a cause for rejoicing.

    COMMENTS

So where are the sons sacrificing marriage and regular pioneering; they aren’t even reaching out as MS and elders? That’s right men in the WTS have more important things to do administrating.

“Jehovah’s Spirit Became Operative Upon” Samson

    17. What did Samson do by means of God’s spirit?

17 Consider another example. When Israel

fell captive to the Philistines, “in time Jehovah’s

spirit started to impel” Samson to deliver

Israel . (Judg. 13:24, 25) Samson was empowered

    to perform deeds of astonishing,

    incomparable strength. When the Philistines

persuaded Samson’s fellow Israelites to capture

    him, “Jehovah’s spirit became operative

upon him, and the ropes that were upon his

arms came to be like linen threads that have

been scorched with fire, so that his fetters

melted off his hands.” (Judg. 15:14) Even

from the physically weakened state brought

on by his own poor judgment, Samson was

made powerful “through faith.” (Heb. 11:32-

    34; Judg.16:18-21, 28-30) Jehovah’s spirit operated

on Samson in a unique way because of

    unusual circumstances. Still, these historical

events are of great encouragement to us.

    How so?

    COMMENTS

Samson fooled around with a non-Jewish woman, Delilah, which led to his betraying the secret of his strength to her. Samson then killed himself and the Philistines; should jws do that to repent from their sins?

    18, 19. (a) Samson’s experience provides what assurance

for us? (b) How have you benefited from

considering the examples of faithful ones in this article?

18 We rely on the same holy spirit that

Samson did. We do so as we carry out the

work Jesus gave his followers, namely, “to

preach to the people and to give a thorough

witness.” (Acts 10:42) This assignment calls

for skills that may not come naturally. How

grateful we are that Jehovah uses his spirit to

enable us to accomplish the wide variety of

tasks that we are entrusted with! Thus, as

we carry out our commission, we can say as did the

prophet Isaiah: “The Sovereign Lord Jehovah himself

has sent me, even his spirit.” (Isa. 48:16) Yes, it is

God’s spirit that has sent us! We set our hearts to

the work with the assurance that Jehovah will enhance

our qualifications as he did for Moses, Bezalel, and Joshua.

We take up “the sword of the spirit, that is, God’s

word,” confident that he will empower us as he empowered

Gideon, Jephthah, and Samson. (Eph. 6:17, 18) By leaning on Jehovah

for his help in overcoming obstacles, we can be as mighty spiritually

    as Samson was physically.

    COMMENTS

Same holy spirit as Samson = physical strength?

Preaching==skills that are not natural, then why have the theocratic school if holy spirit can give jws the miraculous ability without any skill; I know of many jws that must believe that since for 30 to 40 years they have never read the publications they are going to present; never prepare.

19 Clearly, Jehovah blesses those who take a bold

stand for true worship. As we respond to the operation

of God’s holy spirit, our faith abounds. It will be

a pleasure, therefore, to review also some of the exciting

events recorded in the Christian Greek Scriptures.

That will reveal how Jehovah’s spirit operated upon

his faithful servants in the first century, both before

and after Pentecost 33 C.E. These accounts

will be considered in the following article.

    COMMENTS

Bold stand = jws that drive around and call on people who are never home; go from one end of town to the other making 2 calls, the ones that never keep track of people who “show interest” because they don’t want to take up their weekends or evenings with “bible studies”?

God’s spirit can make us as mighty spiritually as Samson was physically

Parents, your zealous example resonates with your children

    Why are you encouraged

    to know how God’s spirit

    CONCLUDING COMMENTS

First, my condolences to any of you that still attend the WT study. These articles have been agonizing.

Next week, GUIDED BY GOD’S SPIRIT IN THE FIRST CENTURY AND TODAY. Does the WTS teach that the anointed (11,000+) and the 7,000,000+ other sheep jws receive holy spirit the same way?

Bezalel didn't have to sign his name to anything to prove he made what he made...we are still being told over 2000 years later that he was the maker of those things...so why would he need a signature.

Moses writes about himself that he is the meekest man alive in all the earth...is that very meek and humble? Was he tooting his own horn?

Thank you blondie for your comments. I endured last week's study and will have to again this week. YIKES!

"He fulfilled his vow by devoting his daughter to exclusive service at Jehovah’s sanctuary at Shiloh."

According to the Bible, and to Jewish history, she was offered up as a burnt offering. She was killed. There is absolutely no foundation to state that she went to Shiloh as some "full-time servant". If that had been the case, the Bible would have said so, like the case of Samuel. Samuel was offered as a "sacrifice" by his mother, he served at the sanctuary, he married and had kids. Jephthah's daughter was a virgin sacrifice.

I thought it was interesting that they included Moses and Samson. Moses married an unbeliever, a daughter of "the priest of Midian"... not a priest of Jehovah. And we know that Samson didn't have a taste for good Hebrew girls. This "faithful" servant seemed to really go for "worldly" women.

    Thanks Blondie...for the early summary.

    Billy- Good observation.

More of that "Jehovah did it for them, so he will do it for you" rubbish. Since when is Jehovah having done something for one person proof that he will do the same for you? Example: Jehovah sent Jonah to Ninevah. He wanted to go to Spain instead, yet Jehovah forced him to Ninevah. Then he ranted about the people in Ninevah repented (any personal blessings for Jonah? I didn't think so.). Now, if Jehovah wants you to go to Nigeria and you would rather head for New Zealand instead, he will refer you to this example while allowing you to rot in Nigeria. So much for rewarding your faith.

Additionally, this is why these religious scams are so effective. You need to waste your whole life in one in order to find out that it is a scam. Those who died faithfully in the religion are not of any assistance to discern whether it was a valid religion or not. Since they all proclaim to be the truth, and that unbreakable faith is required to get the good outcome, it is certain that most everyone is going to get suckered into some scam or another. And the more faithful one is in one's religion, the more likely they are to fall for a bad one. Trouble is, these religious scams are going to continue until Jehovah discontinues the requirement--totally--that one must believe they are in the true religion in order to attain salvation. Without eliminating that, these religious scams are going to persist.

It would have been quite a trick to burn up Jephthah's daughter although at times the Israelites did follow the religious teachings of the Canaanites and throw their children into the fire.

As to marrying a non-Jew, the WTS would merely counter that the law not to marry outside was not given until the Law of Moses. Joseph married a daughter of an Egyptian priest of On. And even 2 major tribes were thus descendants of Eqyptians and Jews.

(Genesis 41:44-45) 44 And Phar′aoh further said to Joseph: “I am Phar′aoh, but without your authorization no man may lift up his hand or his foot in all the land of Egypt.” 45 After that Phar′aoh called Joseph’s name Zaph′e?nath-pa?ne′ah and gave him As′e?nath the daughter of Pot?i′phe?ra the priest of On as a wife. And Joseph began to go out over the land of Egypt.

    Blondie,

Thanks for the official JW reply. That's the reply I like to hear because then I can counter with the question, "What two books of the Bible are named for women, and what were they known for?"

Ruth was a Moabite, there is no indication that she ever worshipped Jehovah at the tabernacle. Both of her Hebrew husbands were marrying a pagan. She was far more in love with her mother-in-law Naomi than in anything or anyone else. Which seems pretty weird.

Esther was a brave and exemplary Jewish girl, who willingly had sex with a pagan ruler for the shot at becoming queen, never mentioned her "Jewish faith" until long after they were "married", doesn't really have any mention of "Jehovah" in her book, was named after a pagan goddess, never seems to have observed any of the Law festivals or sacrifices.

But, of course, there's no reasoning with the JW cult mentality. They can only see everything through the WT lenses.

All I can hear while at these wash-towel studies is:

    WHAM! WHAM! WHAM!

That's the sound of the WTBT$ nailing it's own coffin.

Every time I think they've outdone themselves, more nude light, aka another watchtower, comes out that takes the cake. Ya know cake is fragile, I don't know how much more it can be passed around before it disintegrates; I guess you can always put more frosting on to hold it together and make it pretty. Frosting, sooo nutritious :-)

Billy: You are wrong about the Midianite. Many Semetic nations were worshipping YHWH. Don't fall into the crap of the GB that only Israel was worshipping YHWH to justify their own position as the sole representatives of YHWH on Earth.

One more 'GB gem' in paragraph 7. Good you pointed it out Blondie!

Long 'before YHWH started the Genesis Creation' (according to the dates provided by some members of these forums)-50.000 - 120.000 years ago, Neandertal man was busy drawing on cave walls and making jewelry, and guess those pieces of art are so endurable that we can admire even today! So Neandertal was fortified by YHWH by X100 more Holy Spirit!
