Who is god ?
i see Dog most days.
"God" is different by definition for most people. I think this thread demonstrates that.
My idea of God is that he is the "awareness" that make existent possible, he sees what I and you see, because i and you are a split offs of the absolute awareness or consciousness, A mathematics of a very high order is used and so science is making this plain. Hey, if this universe is something "God" is trying out there may well be an infinity of many failed universe where no life of any kind exist, and perhaps another infinity of ones that brought about life in infinite forms unlike our own,,, perhaps the mystics are right that consciousness is the ground of all being. I don't think we can falsify this idea, but who knows I maybe over looking something(cloud of unknowing hovers over all of this but intuition gives me gut feelings about this idea. Just one "non thing" that includes every thing? There well be a infinite of these non things there may very well be this pre mathematical thing.
I think we are all hooked up to the "God" or "awareness" at a quantum level, because the human brain works both at a classical physics level and also at a Quantum level(quantum tunneling between synapses). We are all connected and all one at this level, perhaps our unconscious part works at this level and is not inside of time and the other 3 dimensions. I do feel that perhaps mind is not an epiphenomena of matter and that both matter and mind are the same thing a sorta self reflecting tangled awareness of object and observer.
I do think that some who used methods of meditation and other means have experienced this oneness be it by Samadhi, or maybe alchemy.

Momoimus said: "Give up the seeking for a God, the creation, and similar things. Look for Him by taking yourself as point of origin. Learn what it is, inside yourself, that attracts everything to itself and that says: "My God, my spirit, my thinking, my soul, my body." Study the sources of pain, happiness, love, hate. If you investigate these things carefully, you will find Him in yourself." It is an idea we find with many mystics, that God is both outside and inside oneself, and thus accessible to anyone. In general, the Gnostics looked at God as the Father-Mother, the highest being, which is actually a negation because nothing in our language can describe Him accurately. Therefore God is called incomprehensible, unlimited, indivisible, the Perfect, the Depth, the Abyss and so on. These are only descriptions and nothing more.
Paracelsus, the famous Medieval alchemist, said that one should not believe or accept anything from other people, but one should investigate and experience for oneself if something is true or not. In keeping with this we now turn our attention to people who have experienced what we call God. Usually they tell us that anyone can experience God and that we should not take their word for granted either. They show us what they have experienced, and that we can do this too.
I think, at its most fundamental level, "God" is simply an anthropomorphic concept for that which transcends anthropomorphic concepts. "Divinity" would be another word for it. A connection or experience with another human being that leaves you with a feeling of the sublime, something higher and greater than yourself and your physical existence.
