    Hi Zordino-

    Thank you for your illustration.

What do you think they do will all of the money they make? It seems that the GB and WTS directors are not really rich? What would they hold onto all of those billions of dollars for?

If they did one day become taxed, do you think they would have enough to pay all the taxes and continue as they are doing? I wonder if that partly answers my question?

    What do you think? Thanks!

It's simply a scam that attempts to be self sustaining. Zordino is right that collections are down due to the changing model of the publishing industry and recruitments are down due to the Internet. What else does the society have that can be converted to cash? Their product doesn't sell, the publishers are tapped out, so th only thing left is to sell the real estate portfolio.

Franz considered them "true believers". I suspect he was right. The more a person repeats the lie the more they believe it. Somehow the image of the "emperor has new clothes" comes to mind.

I think that like most JWs the things that don't make sense are put on a shelf marked "to be explained by Jehovah at some time in the future" And like most JWs they just shut those things out of their minds.

Add to that that the idea that the only thing men with power want is more power this becomes a belief system out of control and the more they feel they are losing control the tighter the reins will become over the people they are controlling

The members of the GB are of the mentality that since they've been able to eat the crackers with a straight face and drink the wine without spilling it, they MUST be anointed and they DESERVE to lead the "true Christian congregation". Other than that, they're idiots with very little in the way of any marketable skills. By being "anointed" and shmoozing their way, they've managed to climb their way up the WT laddar with no real education.

What you see on the video is nothing more than their usual "skills" that they use in reading any other scripted talk. When they're "business" is to show "fake sincerity" they can show it in a small hall, a large auditorium, or a video studio. Like TV evangelists, the GB are "believers" and they believe that God has given them the power to do and say whatever they want.

Their like Hollywood actors playing for a benefit.

The money isn't great, but it's an all expense paid ride!

Not to mention all the platform photo shoots, adulation and popularity.

Only Hollywood actors are more honest by showing their true selves at times.

WT's GB is plastic all the time!

    Thank you Lady Lee-

The GB actually believe they are the F&DS then they will do all they can to keep their operation going.

Yes, they are tightening their reigns of control as we see in just about every issue of the study w.

They're actors, all right... just not particularly gifted ones.

I know their arent just GB members on the video, but these guys (especially the younger GB members) couldnt believe in what they are teaching.

I am was good friends with Geoff Jackson and his family. I think the same, there is no way he can believe what he teaches. When he "got the calling" in his late 30's it seemed so contrived, such a shrewd move for power. He started by moving to Tuvalu as a special pioneer, then served on the Fiji Branch, then got Anointed and then was transferred to Brooklyn.

But who knows? They would never admit it. Maybe that are totally deluded by a life time of indoctrination, or totally deluded by the desire for power.

Joliette... you may be right... I noticed the same thing...

My favorite two quotes from that 2010 WT DVD Faith In Action are:

"This is not the work of man. This is the work of Jehovah." -David Splane

"The fact that they were able to pinpoint that year is just phenomenal." -Anthony Morris

I noticed that David Splane cleverly added a subtle dramatic flair while Anthony Morris was simply trying to hard to appear and sound convincing...
