I just got back from the Assembly today. Bethel Speaker came in to give the first talk of the morning and the last talk in the afternoon.
The main point the bethel speaker told us to keep in mind: "Man was created with free will as long as we choose to serve Jehovah."
My take: I just spent $50 worth of gas to go to an assembly to hear a contradictory statement. Assholes!!

I have to look forward to this assembly. The program seems all about "Will of God" & "God's Will". Sounds boring.

As one who had 50 yrs. in, you have my sympathy. My ass gets sore just thinking of attending an assembly. I'll be skiing on weekends thinking of you guys.

I'll be sitting home next weekend working on assignments for the classes I'm taking to obtain my Masters degree.
I will be in direct defiance of the JW elders who told me long ago that getting an education is a waste of time.

I am so glad I have faded to the point I no longer need to go...my family does not expect me and I have no JW friends that expect me. I can relax at home, enjoy some time with my grandkids. I am not sure why people would go if they feel that badly about the assembly. To they own self be true and stay home.
