I read 1984 in HS and agree it is very similar to jws.

I recently read animal farm, 1984 and the orwellian world

So did my wife who met me while i was still an apologist for them.

She commented how much of me then, mirrored 1984... particularly crimestop.

I loved 1984 when I read it. A poster on another board recomended it to me. I felt a connection to Winston.

I think the thing that struck me the most was thought crime and the amount of control the government holds over the people. It was very WTS like to me.

I too read 1984 before my wake up. Zoom right over my head. After my wake up, I didn't even need to re-read it, it was all I could think about.

Hubby recommended I read it. I can look back over our years together and see many of his gentle nudges, trying to wake me up. He must have been so frustrated when I just didn't see.
