According to the 2012 yearbook, there was a 3% increase over 2010 in the US. The only reason it is that high is because they lumped Hawaii (which used to be a separate figure) in with the US. Otherwise, it would have been just over 1%

Just as much as you can't trust the WT, you can't trust the media either.

More evidence that Jehovah is blessing them.

@BizzyBee - "I see at least a 4.4% increase in misery among JWs."

I LOVE THAT ONE! You funny funny person... let's hang out sometime.

Stats can be so deceiving. First of all, the JW's 4.4% growth is only 50,000. The Pentecostals had over a 150,000 growth per year! It's a higher percentage of a small number versus smaller percentage of a big number. Do JW's care about saving PEOPLE, or just increasing the percentage of the people they are saving?

Also we know the JW's are quite liberal to count their numbers. If I recall it was active publishers that are only counted. We know many people are hanging by a thread and doing minimal actual service, or in many cases lying or exaggerating their hours.

It's all about quality vs quantity.

On another note, I'd be curious on the number growth of those who are not religious at all. I bet that's growing even faster.

1.9% only,,by using JW 2010 Service Report for Hawaii and U.S. with their U.S. (since Hawaii now merged w/U.S.)

    U.S. population increase .96%,,http://www.indexmundi.com/g/g.aspx?v=24&c=us&l=en

So JW increase over general population increase, not even 1%,,not impressive.

That would be an interesting statistic.

I also wonder how many of that 4.4% increase is those reporting just 15 minutes

Well, if they're including the Williams sisters as JWs, how accurate can the report be?

Dunno, how'bout this fella? An examplary servant of Jehovah.

Can you imagine the hoot if someone showed up for the Sunday meeting dressed like that. I want to be there with a videocamera.

Someone already said it here, but the reason for this, is due to JWs having such a small number of members. This means that even though they have fewer converts than anybody else, because the overall number is low the percentage of the increase is still higher.

Also keep in mind that this is publishers, which include many kids and others who are not baptized and potentially might never become members.

Here's the real number. What is the rate of population growth in this country, vs the growth among the publishers. Something tells me they don'ty even keep up with population growth.
