My Father's Funeral (page 2)

Thank you all for your kind words and thoughts.

I am feeling better. I cried alot last week. I am so glad it is over...I am really sorry I did not talk to my father recently. I spoke to him about 2 weeks ago. He sounded fine. He even sent me a joke on the Friday before he passed.

I have some solace in the idea that he was happier with his life than he had been. He was drinking again, however, he knew and admitted he was an alcoholic. He lived on the golf course and the bar he hung out at was a walk across the greens. He did not have to drink and drive. At least he thought of that.

I am very sad that he was so stressed by my two brothers. They were really messed up. Their mother, Sharon, became a Baptist; they have a doomsday philosophy also. Armageddon is on it's way. Too weird that both women he married became armageddon believers. My brothers are into drugs and the younger one, Tim, had drug dealers coming to my dad's place looking for money. That really stressed my dad out.

After finding the porno in my Dad's place, his friend told us he was using Viagra. He said my Dad gave him a couple pills to use. Ed said he took one and drove home. He does not have a girlfriend....anyway, my Dad phoned Ed and told him it lasts for about 6-8 hours! Ed said he could have hung laundry out to dry!

I will always remember that story.

I do have fond memories.
