Blondie, thanks. But I was really asking about a higher authority to JW's than Jesus- I was asking what Watchtower had to say.

Amelia, thanks. Good point. Even when they are clearly wrong, they simply stop talking about one aspect of the matter.

WTWizard, I have played around before with the dawning of the Age of Aquarius. You are hitting on the essence of what I am talking about when you talk of new peaks and the work speeding up.

DLL, I think you said it best.

Tootired, that's something we've talked about here. Sometimes, nobody was getting baptized and they said to use the talk to reflect on your own baptism.

WTW- Will the JWN forum still be going strong in 140 years. You keep saying 'we', hope is good but.

    Strange topic this.

One of the 'anointed' came over 2 days ago to 'answer' my questions (and he failed, miserably). He started off by reading an article in the 81 watchtower about the Jews walking around the city and on the seventh day, they did it seven times, thus 'increasing their activity'. This would also happen in 'the last days' when the 'preaching work' will increase. He then showed us the table in the yearbook regarding the increase in 'aux. pioneers'.

I've been wanting to post on this, to get your thoughts.

Designs, sorry to be selfish but I do care if WT is still around that far into the future, but I don't really care if JWN still goes once WT is gone.

Wezz, "anointed" is a strange feeling that people have that cannot be verified. They actually should be better at explaining things than just elders because they believe in their higher purpose. But to explain anything in the JW world, well.... you come up short. Why the heck is he using such an old reference? That's more "anointed" like than elder-like. Maybe they latch onto points then don't keep up with the changes. I am not sure what the point he was making was, but I would have said that the preaching work is just "walking around" more, no real progress. So you can show me tables of increases, but it's all just on paper.

Somehow they will weave the decreases and cost-cutting measures into their narrative, just like they did with the increases 20-30 years ago.
