The WTBTS flips property for huge profits.

Downsizing a publishing dinosaur is a smart move on their part.

i cant help bit wonder if big number drops have happened and they are not telling. like counting you even if you never come because you never formally left.

All the growth & expansion of WTS Branches and printing facilities use to be hyped as having God's blessing on the JW propaganda work. Now, with no growth and being exposed by the internet for false prophesies, and the WTS being a cult, the downsizing moves are smart business decisions by a publishing house cult.

Selling for huge profits the Brooklyn properties and building in Patterson results in huge profits and a newer HQ complex that has lower costs to operate. All the excess profits can go into investment portfolios to bring in stock & bond trading profits. The downsizing of the mags result in the same money for literature donations, but half the costs to produce them.

All these rapid changes in the WTS organization does not sound like a religion that is about to be proved right by God that Armaggedon is imminent and they alone are the True religion. It sounds like desperate moves by a failing business to regroup and re-invent itself.

Cutting the franchise brandname Watchtower magazine in half to 16 pages is very telling. This magazine was how their God communicated his ideas to his JW true followers. Now Armaggedon is here and the Watchtower gets cut in half? I call bullshit on this and every JW that believes this is a fucking dope.

This religion is nothing but a Publishing House cult run by lawyers, with an old Governing Body as anointed puppets. It won't be long until some of these WTS lawyers figure out a way to con the master cons out of a big hunk of that money.

Now that would be "divine justice"!

They will shift to other stuff:

Movies for kids about Adam and Eve, Noah's Ark...

    NOLAW,

On the bethel side, videos like the 2 YPA are expensive and take a long time. I don't imagine they'll do any like those again. Instead, they are mostly just doing the sign language videos and cheap & cheesy productions. (This is not intended as an insult to cheese.) I think they're due to release another video this year. Must of the publishers don't seem to watch the videos until they're assigned on the Service Meeting.

In a world with youtube, Watchtower video productions are completely forgettable.

I am seeing "New Light"- in reconsidering scripture tithing IS in accordance with God's commands to the WTBTS! Failure to tithe is an offense punishable by disfellowshipping and tax returns will be demanded.

I think lumper may have something with new light on tithing, however, they will not be able to get a hold of tax returns! too many ubm's! Even if they begin tithing I think many jw's have low paying jobs and it still won't be enough. I am thinking a new type of pyramid scheme with the wt as a whole using the internet & paypal.

McDonalds is a real estate company with a sideline in burgers.

The WBT Society is a real estate company with a sideline in religion.

If suddenly McNuggets stop being profitable, McDs would end that line. The Watchtower and Awake have become unprofitable so the society is cutting production. Unfortunately they cant stop production because they believe they are a religion first.
