Honesty and anezthy, I am in total agreement with your analysis of "Shadow Elder's" article. The "Truth!" Really? According to WHO?
Um what's his point?
Wow, another enlightened elder who is willing to support a religion that kills children and breaks up families with shunning.- He needs to be more concerned about participating in WT blood guilt and receiving godly punishment for being a obsequious stooge for the Governing Body.
Yeah really odd. He supports an organisation that by his own admission falsely claims to be led by holy spirit, but he thinks the really important issue is spelling and grammar. Talk about missing the point.
hes gunna be waiting a loooong time for the 'holy not there' to change the GBs hearts!

Aussie --- love your one liner! I sure wish something would change their evil.

"As I read the comments sections on this and other so-called "apostate" websites, I see many responses that have been submitted by those who are studying or consider themselves to be faithful Jehovah's Witnesses. My comment to them is that they may be doing more harm than good in the way they respond. Let me explain:
Learn how to write! How can you support the Watchtower's position that getting a higher education is a waste of time - time better spent in Kingdom service - if you can't spell, punctuate, and develop a well-considered thought?..." OP letter
Oh, the irony....
"For a Witness to access this, or any other website, and then try to deny the truth of what really happens during a Witness funeral, a Watchtower study, an assembly or convention, or even what we really do during field service - is in itself promoting a lie. What happens when new people actually do come to the Kingdom Hall or go to a Witness funeral and realize that what was written on an "apostate" website was really the truth - and that the comments by Jehovah's Witnesses were lies?..." OP letter
Ah, now that is a DELICIOUS irony!!!
Okay, finally having read the entire thread...
I agree with those who said he sounds a bit "full of himself" - but imo, that gives his claims to be an active elder [with years of experience] MORE validity...
I also agree with the many who stated that he sounds like he's 'waking up' - and Moshe, I know, he's still supporting a bloodguilty organization, but I think his 'life-sentence' as a stooge of the Watchtower Corporation, may be coming to an end.
I found it VEEEEERY interesting that he knew that the Govening Body VOTES on biblical issues and principles... That is one factor that I found a bit - well, suspicious.
Either he's been talking to some Bethelites with a good deal of 'behind-the-scenes' information, or he's already read - or dipped into - Ray Franz' "Crisis of Conscience".
I mean, is the information that the Governing Body VOTES, common knowledge??? I don't think so...
Anyway, thank you for posting that letter!! I think that "Shadow Elder" is probably legitimate...
Whilst a lot of what the Watchtower teaches is plainly wrong, at the same time, can somebody point me to another religion that is not even more wrong?
Iam in the position where I would Love to attend a church that teaches truth, for the same reasons I originally joined the JWs, that hasnt changed, I would go back to the JWs because I think most of them are about the nicest people you can meet, thats probably why half of them are still in it.
I would go back to the JWs except that they wouldnt have me because I reject some of them self exaulting doctrines so I would have to lie which Iam not going to do.
So I find life quite lonely, as a Christian with no "Truth" to go to.
Maybe when Jesus really does come, he will chose the JWs, but only after "cleansing the house of God" first.
I do agree with a lot of what this person is saying, seems to me like the basis for a good religion thats been hi-jacked by an evil slave who disfellowships any of the annointed who might well be being lead by Gods Spirit, but because it doesnt harmonise with thier doctrines of men, the real new light gets thrown out along with the Prophet that brought it, maybe its along the lines of apostate Israel when they where Gods people but killed the prophets God sent.
My point being, I wish God would save this religion and bring 100% proof to it, there are a lot of people I really Love still in it and that work hard, I was brought to a knowledge and relationship of God through thier hard work, so though they have many errors and Idolatrous opinions of themselves, they have good points as well, I would like to see them all brought to a true Spiritual Paradise.
I do fear though that when the real Two Witnesses arrive and do restore true worship, a lot of those witnesses are going to do the very same thing the Jews did, which is to worship thier religion rather than God and I would rather than not happen to a single one of them.
So I think this fellow is trying to do some good.
