Do You Feel Bad For Those Who Feel They Still Must Attend Meetings?

Minimus: Good topic for discussion. I'm a former elder and a fader and proud of it, has been 8 years now and I have never felt so happy to be free of all the hum drum fan fare. My older brother is a former elder also and he keeps torturing himself knowing the truth about the truth. He says he hasn't found anything better so he keeps going. He goes to keep the peace in his family because his wife would ride him to hell and back if he didn't. She's a major kool-aid drinker.

I shake my head in disbelief at his situation. Others in his hall feel the same way. But he says where am I to go? Stay home, study the bible, research, and learn. ( All I know is I'm a happy camper and I wish he was too.)

If a Mormon ( people don't care about religious abuse anymore) can get the republican nomination for president, then it's probably OK for someone to go to the KH- it looks like their job is going to much easier- let the NEW WT website do the trolling for stooges who want to study WT books with JWs- stay home with the family on Saturday mornings now.

I do for some of them, those who are really trapped inside and haven't yet found the courage/strength to leave because of risks to family relationships. Some really baffle me with their hypocrisy, especially the ones who come on here ranting at others and judging their actions, but who put on the smile and go with the flow at KHs occasionally to fit their own situations.

I don't envy anyone who feels really trapped in there, knowing the TATT.

Depends, if it's those who attend because they are terrified not to then yes. Whether it be that they are scared because they've been told they'll be killed by god if they don't go or scared of losing family. I'd rather for their own sake that they fade. If folk attend knowing full well it's completely false then it's about time they left. We only live once.

As someone who still goes, I wouldn't want anyone to feel bad for me. At the end of the day it's my choice. But it is very painful. Every time I go it gets worse. The anxiety and agitation is awful. I try and miss as many as I can get away with but with my mother, husband, children, friends I grew up with all there, it's not an option. I have no local friends or family outside so the alternative is to have no one. Maybe one day it'll come to that. At the moment I bear it.
