Interestingly, the best thing that can come out of this would be the way the householders in Stratton would respond when a JW comes to their door.

I mean, here is an elected official (JWs don't vote so this means NOTHING to them) giving the JW a chance to register because certain of his constituents don't want to be bothered--and they freakin ignore it!

I would give anything to be a fly on the wall of the KH that serves
Stratton territory.

And YES people want their First Amendment rights protected, but do those same people like being interrupted every night during dinner by telemarketers? Hell NO!

I would say the creators of the 1st amendment never forsaw automatic dialers, the emergence of 4 bajillion Non-profits doing professional begging, or a pesky little religiuos group known as JW.

Their right to free speech isn't more important than my right to privacy.

I hope they do win so people will see just how persistent they are in getting their demands.

Also, I bet the neighborhoods that the SC justices live in stop them at the guarded gate. NICE.

WTS will again nothing they supposedly didn't already have so big deal. Why not email/mail Strattonians info on the WTS to give the JWs who come knocking: the secret UN liason, pedophile coverups, bleeding deaths etc. Send copies to churches in or near Stratton.

I agree that the WT should win the case. Three cheers for deomacracy! It allows dissent and freedom of speech. The society vilifies and demonizes the gov'ts, but the GB can't hold a candle to the U.S. in the arena of human rights.

It is my belief that the real question not about freedom of speech. The Witnesses have won the right to preach on public streets, but does the Constitution guarantee the right to preach on private property? Where does public property end and private property begin? The Dubs are not paying to maintain my driveway, walkway, doorstep (property that I pay taxes on). Doesn't the property owner have some rights to determine who has access to their private property? After all, if the dubs fall on my side of the fence I am the one liable for their injury.

Absolutely! They are welcome to spread their message in this country, and opponents are just as welcome to spread a counter message. There have been some well-known neo-nazi marches in this country. As long as they do it peacefully, they are welcome to do so under the Constitution.

That's the way free speech works.

Any MALE jws who even try to approach my property will be greeted with a thunderous reaction from me verbally, making sure my neighbors here me well. The jw women will be allowed to go up the stairs and approach the door, where I'll be waiting anxiously. Now, if the MALES should happen to get past my surveillence and do get to the porch...well, they will wished they hadn't ignored my request from the last time three jw MALES got out of their car right in front of my house... "NO MALE jws to call upon my home".

How is each householder to be aware of who is a "good witness" and who is the "protected predator" knocking on your doorholding a bible? How? EDUCATING EACH AND EVERY AMERICAN COMMUNITY IS EXACTLY HOW!

Printing up fliers, taking out ads and by writing to editorial/opinion pages in each of our communities news media outlets, that contain, among other vital info and alerts (press releases) posted on them, ALL MAJOR DOCUMENTS, B.O.E. LETTERS, SITES AND NEWS ARTICLES re: blood, pedophilia and all UNITED NATIONS DOCUMENTS...plus an extensive list of sites to research, is a good start.
