I believe they were long out of the JW life (another article I read). Can't talk for the brother but the women who killed her children wasn't influenced to do that by anything JW related. Sounded more like a Casey Anthony problem (not real happy to be a mother).
Her JW parents were in close contact with her and tried to be helpful with the children. She wanted them to move to London so she'd have a baby sitter!
Anyone who has never had post-partum depression cannot possibly understand the completely unwanted and unwarranted feelings that come with it. These feelings are irrational. She never should have killed her children, yet she felt compeled to kill. This is not normal. Her family in Canada seemed to realize how bad things were, as they went fairly frequently to the UK to help her. Was she being treated for her depression? She will never be able to come to grips with her horrible actions.
This cna happen to anyone. The system is geared up to keep us all in enslavement through school, work, religion, governments. The pressure grows as the demands in society grow. God Bless the woman .

Postpartum depression can be deadly. It's not taken seriously enough, but extreme cases bring psychosis. A person can lose touch with reality, and then do things they would never, EVER, do if their brains hadn't been temporarily taken offline.
If her parent knew there was a problem, enough to visit, then I wonder why those already in the UK didn't take some precautions.
I don't blame the religion for this kind of thing. This disconnect can happen to anyone, and it is very scary. she will have to live the rest of her life with this, and the babies are gone, and it's so tragic there aren't words. Take this disorder seriously.
