    Welcome Blindfool.

I have a similer situation, in that I am no longer a JW but my wife is, and she takes our three children to the meetings and does all the indoctrination stuff with them.

That has been the case for many years. My oldest child, Benjamin, has seen the light. He says he no longer accepts the JW worldview and is tired of leading a double life (as many children in the congregation are).

However, it took years of just being there for my children. It takes a great deal of patience to hang on in there but it's worth it when your beloved children finally wake up to the truth.

Perhaps one day our wives will wake up and smell what they're shovelling, who knows? We can always live in hope.

Allow me to add my words of welcome. I suppose we all started off lurking on the site , and that makes it worth answering any relevant question posed, even if the thread seems irrelevent...you never know who might read it.

    I note what you say

"The sticking point with me was and still is that the GB insists on being called the direct channel of God"

Quite so, the more you find out ,the less likely it becomes. The phrase "Spirit directed" allows for human error while still requiring total obedience.

    Keep on posting

Greetings Blind, I would say that for most, when you find this place its like a breath of fresh air...it was like that thing or those people that you knew about in the back of your mind, but couldn't put your finger on....... but lo and behold, that's where they've been hiding all the apostates!!!! There are lots of people here that will provide you with plenty of good "bad association", not to mention a plethora of different viewpoints on the JW experience. Enjoy, and watch out for the occassional smurf or smelly troll...

    Sincerely,

    District Overbeer

    Hey there Blindfool

When I read your intro...you reminded me of so many others like you that I have seen. My ex used to take ones like you under his wing...the newly associating unbelieving husband...who is soon transformed into a bible student...and then a publisher...and then baptised and is seen to be reaching out...etc. Meanwhile the congregation marvels at their progress and he is inundated with hugs and hand shakes and encouraging words. He receives privileges and is given a moment of glory where he is selected to count heads at an assembly and he gets to wear that orange sash lol.

But anyway...back to you. I am glad to see you posting...and I hope that you get the feed back you are looking for. I feel that you will have a difficult road ahead of you...as your wife is still attending meetings as well as the children. It won't be easy for you....but I'm sure there will be a lot of advice and suggestions out there to help you cope. All the best...and welcome! Look forward to hearing more from you.
