No, much like a birthday is a day to remeber the past year and look forward, a day for friends to be appreciative that have this person in thier life, we use Thursday, that is Thorday, to remember the thunder because we love him and appreciate him and all he does for us.
Thanks so much for clarifying! Now I will also give you a chance to explain precisely what Thor does for which we should be thankful and show our appreciation?!

I don't venerate him, Cedars! What I like about Thor is that he likes us! He likes humans. He likes to have us as his friends!
And here's the best bit...to be a friend of Thor all you need to do is acknowledge him as mighty god of Thunder, feel friendly towards him, maybe have a hammer around but it isn't essential, and just feel loyal to him if called upon to be so.
The way I see Thor, the thought of being venerated probably makes him roar with laughter!
My kind of god. Definitely.
Oh! and by the way, tonight is Thor's Day Eve...why not enjoy a little cheer with Mrs Cedars and raise a glass to the guy who gives his name to Thursdays!

Well cedars you now begin to understand the genisis of Thor worship... Ther eis in fact far more evidance for Thor than for the desert god.... For one, thunder and lightning. Second, there are no frost giants. So far Thor is amazinlgy real and easy to believe in compared to desert gods and their sons who promise things for thousands of years and never seem to deliver

Not so. A number of frost giants have confided in me about their vicious persecution at the hands of followers of Thor. Likely the only reason you haven't seen one is because they are trying like hell to avoid you!
