"How unwise it would be to use such sites without reading that material! It would be like taking a powerful medicine without reading the warning label on the bottle."
If social media is the medicine, what is the illness? Medicine is necessary, social media is not.
The WT is the ultimate toxic nanny; they think, maybe correctly (?) that the rank and file can't even use Facebook without being warned about "bad association".
Really? Do we need to be told there are scary things out there, LOL?
What is the warning about Facebook anyway? It is banal, trivial and a time waster? Sounds like field service.

soooo since the article in 2009 when they said the internet was a portal for the devil... it has now became "a useful way to provide communication, education, and entertainment."

Yes, exactly. Listen to us because we were the ones who warned you the whole time about everything. Aren't you glad you listened to that article we wrote about looking both ways before you cross the busy intersection. You know if you hadn't you could have been hit and maimed or killed. And no you didn't figure it out on your own, you had come to that wisdom by means of us, the faithful slave. Obey or perish.

This reminds me of the old song "How you gonna keep down on the farm" The WTS is trying to keep CONTROL but I feel they are going to lose the battle. Most of the people I work with have a laptop with them. The young people
have a smart phone with them like it is part of their anatomy. Facebook dangerous! NO, it's all about trying to control and it's not going to happen. It's out of their hands now no matter how many articles they print.

Yup. They have a twitter account now @jworg
I wonder how long before they get a Facebook page?

I'll second that! The latest generation (real generation, not overlapping) coming up won't even be able to fathom the idea of not googling a question or avoiding certain sites. I like how they form an implicit link between pornography and "spiritually harmful" sites.
These bastards are something else, but they are not going to win in the long run!

Found Sheep
I just found a message from a former facebook friend of mine. I guess he realized I was not a JW and gave me this guilt message and said he had to un-friend me
I sent back a mature life is good message. He said he hopes I get over my bitterness? I told him I'm not bitter I've never been happier.....

wha happened?
what a quandry they constantly get themselves into. To them, technology is from the devil. (Just think Kathy Bates in The Waterboy). VCR's. The devil. But we'll go ahead and make videos for the devils devices to play. Internet. The devil. But we all need email and a way of transfering documents back and forth between the KH's and each branch. Not to mention research.
It really is silly when u seperate the religion from the corporation

wha happened?
It reminds me of a conversation I had about a year ago from an old friend who is still in. This was after the DA and the ranting they did about Facebook. He was going on and on how Facebook can use your images for whatever they want blah blah blah. Be careful who u speak with blah blah blah. I asked hiom. Isn' this common sense kinda stuff, like, Don't give out personal info? Why an asembly part on something so inane? What's next? Wash your hands after u pee? He whined about the dangers. So I asked him. What about your facebook profile is worth money to facebook? uh no answer....
