    WTS visits Apostate Website! (continuation)

(I move this discussion to the top of this board because it’s already been buried under the other posts. Original post http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/forum/thread.asp?id=22454&site=3&page=1 )

As many of you on this board already have read, the WTS has visited Watchtower Information Service several times (see http://www.watchtowerinformationservice.org/ for screenshots of the log files that proof the WTS’ visits apostate websites).

Kent made the following remark: “…But - this person just COULD be someone inside being curious, someone that could be our helper in the next run - and when we blow the whistle like this - the security department will know exactly what logs to check out. … On the other hand - there are ways and workarounds - and I for one wouldn't publish such logs. …”

I understand his concerns, although I am almost sure the brothers who visited Watchtower Information Service were from a ‘special task force’.

My question is: Do you think it is unethical to publish log files like I have done to disclose the Watchtower’s tactics?
    Your comments are appreciated.

If they are visiting apostate websites, it may or may not have anything to do with tactics. If in fact the apostate material that they, (whoever was using the offending computer), find is in any way a catalyst to change/downfall, then we should exhort them to visit more often, not bring thier machine down on those we could possibly influence. If it is a tactic, then the old addage about "keeping your enemy close to you" is a sound one, or so they think, but actually works toward our advantage in the end. (See Curiosity Killed The Cat Conspiracy Theory).

    Sincerely,

I've been told by someone in-the-know that the Watchtower Society regularly visits high-profile "apostate" sites for several reasons. They want to keep up with what so-called "high-profile apostates" are doing; they want to know what topics are "hot" with their opposers, and they want to see who are claiming to be elders, COs, DOs, etc. and who also post on opposing discussion boards.

The fact that they have visited your site should not surprise anyone familiar with WTS tactics: they do indeed have special people assigned to monitor such sites and are abject hypocrites for discouraging R&F members from doing exactly what they are doing.

I don't think it's a question so much of ethics as of practicality. It might not be WT spies digging for dirt on apostates visiting your sites; it might just be Bethelites who are having their own doubts. Why expose them, when they are exactly the sort whose eyes we are trying to open?

I think it is reasonable to assume the WTS monitors sites like Rado's and this one among others. Sure it is hypocritical but it is in their interest to do so.

I think it is unethical to publish what is already generally known. There is little advantageous violating someone's privacy in this way even if it is the WTS.

I wasn't terribly shocked when I read it on the first thread. They are just gathering intelligence so they can include in the next KM how to respond to questions at the door regarding their pitiful existance. If we could only get into their hard drives...

I'm sure this is just prepping for thier next rags. Reminds me of the time I was corresponding with them for six months and then they started publishing the responses to the info I was giving them through their rags. Like they were preparing the dubs on how to answer tough questions like the ones I was asking.

Why do you ask such a question now? People told you on the other thread how they feel; you've made it clear what you feel and how you fell and what you're going to do.

People simply not open/respond to any more of your posts, nor go to your website becasue their info may wind up there.

Do you care more about sensationalizing your website than you do about people like ME who are still 'inside'?

In 1975 a crack team of publishers was sentenced to death by a judicial commiteee. They promptly escaped from the cult and now live life on the run. If you have a problem ... and if you can find them ... maybe you can contact the A--postate Team"
