On the other hand, hold your piece, could refer to either a particular body part or a portable firearm.
If you don't know if it's peace or piece why don't you just say what you have to say and then STFU!
I don't mind spelling errors but I can't stand it when people talk about things they don't know about. Don't use words or expression you don't understand. If you're unsure, then look them up. If you want to be understood you must say something understandable. I don't know how many times I've been frustrated when someone says something they don't intend because they use words and/or phrases incorrectly.
Be opinionated. Even be wrong. But at least have given it some thought and know what the hell it is that you're trying to say. Then sit down, be quiet and listen to what others have to say. You just might learn something.
I know I have.

Whoa!! Easy there 00DAD! When it comes to the whole "say your piece/peace" thing, both make sense, right?
No need to get all aggro about it.
I'm pretty casual about mistakes but the one I almost always notice is when people use the word "alot". "Alot" is not a word. You would use
a, (with a space) then the word lot.
Example: I use to drink alot of the koolaid from the kingdom halls. (incorrect)
I use to drink a lot of the koolaid from the kingdom halls. (correct)
I don't know why but this always bothered me.
Then again I'm not a good student of English and have fairly poor spelling even after going to college for several years.
The spelling here by some posters is too amazing to believe they don't know any better. My favorite however was posted a week or two ago,
instead of "doubts" the poster spelled out "dowts", now that one is just to friggin' unbelievable not to know any better ! !
Some here spell baptized, "babtized" another one that's hard to believe since this more or less is a site that has to do with religion.
I no wat u meen. I coud of used reguler spelling an grammer but im so lacky daiseical rite now.
Well, ive all ready spoke by peach on the subjekt.
ahahaha!
I stand corrected ,,, I think (?)
So, I shall hold my piece (peace) ,,, and many thanks to TD et al.
I'm kinda worried though, because now I don't know what the correct interpretation is, and I'm seriously confused. HALP!
It's most excellent, because I am such a word geek, and now you have stumped me! Must consult a friend, who is a compleat language guru.

(If you really feel the need to help a fellow poster with grammar, send him/her a personal message.)
I so agree, CoCo,,, the whole peace/piece thing, was just me 'funnin' with LKL, and he knows that, and not meant as a correction, per se.
00DAD --- chill! we were just having a bit of fun. xoxo I know some things have been a bit tense around here,, so understood. (hug)
