Do not go from door to door on Sunday mornings when half the people are in church and the other half are hung over from the party the night before. Not good time management.

"Sisters are allowed to wear as short a skirt as they like!"

Yes, if that point change, I'll go back...:-))

I saw my sister once in a mini skirt as a joke. I was like: ohh!!
Such beautiful legs are always hidden behind a long skirt, what a pitty!!

    Hello LDH,

The Watchtower Society should do the same as any other disgraced political party that has failed to keep it's manifesto.

The members of the governing body should resign and allow a different set of leaders to apologize on their behalf and make some drastic changes in their set up.

The other suggestion is simple. The clue is - 'they shoot horses don't they

Two more suggestions for the Children.

Don't let them hear the discussion of destruction (armedgeddon) before the age of 12. (They're children for goodness sake, let them have their innocense)

And let them stay in and watch their Saturday Morning Cartoons (well I guess the children today are blessed with the Cartoon Network and weekly cartoons, when i was a kid the cartoons were only on Saturday Morning)

And by the way no KINGDOM PREACHING for the kids, it was such a humilitiating experience for me to run into my friends.

    Happy to be Free (Me)

What a great subject! I have read the replies and agree with just about all of them! I wholeheartedly agree with these:

Get rid of the blood issue! It's not right. My husband lost his grandfather 2 years ago because of it, and it makes me VERY angry. Why are organ transplants a matter of conscience, but the blood issue is not? Blood is as big a part of my body as any other organ!

Get Rid of the threat of losing your family, by being disfellowshipped if you don't agree with the GB

And I also 100% agree with letting children having Their Birthday parties. The other holidays don't interest me that much, as I think most are just crass commercialism, or just plain silly.

And ditch the notion that a loving God is gonna kill billions for not being JWs! If This christian god is the true God, and this is what he has in mind...why would anyone want to follow such a mean creature?

Well I could write a book hehehe...but these are a few of my main complaints.

My first reaction to this question was the same as Venice. Let 'em rot!
Buuuuut, out of consideration for those who can't bring themselves to leave and the children that have no choice.
1.Stop the door to door ministry (focus on informal witnessing if you feel the need to preach).
    2.Stop all shunning.
3.Disfellowship only to keep the congregations clean, not as means to keep the flock submissive.
4.Do not protect wrongdooers to save face.
5.Eliminate the book study, replace it with an optional Bible study (yea, actually study the Bible, none of this "proof text" bs)
6.Give up on the OT crap. Focus on Christianity.
    7.Stop trying to prophesy.
    8.Dump the Watchtower study.
9.Do charitable works for the needy.
10.Have a big birthday party in the Kingdom Hall for all the kids and apologize for enforcing such a silly ban on something so harmless.
11.Allow women to really participate in the congregations. Women and men should be treated as equals. Eldresses? Why not.
12.Admit that the Blood ban was evil and establish a fund (sell some property and use that money) to provide counseling for anyone who suffered from that twisted policy.
13.Admit that the fools running this business are human and make mistakes like everyone else, and then retire them.
14.Study and emulate mainstream religions. WTBTS have enough members and enough resources ($$$$$) now to sustain themselves. So there is no reason to continue with the cult like tactics. They are as misguided as the others, so why not join them.
    EDITED
    Lisa,
I was headin' down the road when I realized that I had not adhered to the guideline you suggested when preparing this wish list. So dismiss this as a rant and not constructive criticism. Post-now-think-later is my maxim.
    And I'll add one more:
15.Immediately stop playing all Kingdom songs in the Halls. Begin playing "All you need is Love" by the Beatles (If necessary, pay royalties to whoever holds the copyright, tell the Brooklyn boys to stop being so cheap.). Continue to play and sing this until the friends get the idea. If it takes a really, really long time substitute "Imagine" by John Lennon. Both of these songs should be sung in 3 or 4 part harmony with percussion instruments as accompaniment (tambourines, maracas, bongos, washboards, and more). The Friends need to LOOSEN UP.
Phew, now I've worked up a sweat. End of rant (really).

    Hi Amicus,

I love the suggestions above. You Know, about 30 years ago, John Lennon said that Rock & Roll would be bigger than Christianity. His idea of the future turned out to be a lot more accurate than 'God's prophet' the WT Society.

The 10 remaining members of the governing body should form a rock group. How about - 'Bethel Boppers.'

    Rock on

::I don't think the belief system can be kept going...it is not built upon a firm foundation.

Simon, I love you man, but UMMMM look at the Vatican, the Protestant Church etc. You will see from history that faithful followers will ALWAYS be. True it might be blind faith, but hey if no one notices what the hell!

Amicus, Trevor, Eyes, These are so wonderful! Your suggestions are the BOMB! I just wonder if the guys at 117 will read this and realize that none of us are claiming to be anointed, and yet we can STILL figure out what needs to be done.

My sincere desire is that the WBTS sees that they are not factory supervisors of a room full of automatons. I feel TERRIBLE for most of the children going to the Hall now. My daughter is so lucky, other kids in the cong. are being so sheltered from LIFE, they are being isolated, not insulated from this world.

    Keep going guys.

BTW, I wore my 'I voted' sticker all day Nov. 4th. Especially to places (school) where people think JWs don't do their part in the community. Guys, hate to say it but we usually don't.

Yes, there will always be believers of something or other.
I think though that some of the success that the WTB&TS has enjoyed in terms of growth has been made by making specific, short-term promises which cannot be sustained.
I believe they are trying to move towards 'the end could be years away' while still keeping the enthusiasm going. Tough act.
The established churches have always been here for the long haul though, so to speak.
