LOL Cedars. I found him surly and uncommunicative. When I tried to speak to him cheerfully he'd cut me off.
He appeared disengaged at elder's meetings.
Y'know...........I don't think I ever saw him smile!

I don't know him well, but I have met him and I know his wife. Hopefully he at least "gels" with her, even if not with you!

I have a small story to tell about Jim Fleming.
He was our CO a few years ago. I never liked him, seemed self-righteous and smug. Apparently he's no longer a CO but is a regular elder in an Edinburgh congregation. Don't know why.
Anyway at out last Special Day Assembly there was a talk all about the dangers of pornography. The chairman said the brother who had been assigned the talk could not make it, and brother Fleming had come to our Assembly especially, all the way from Edinburgh, and volunteered to give the talk at short notice. And so Jim Fleming thundered on about how prevalent and malevolent naked bodies are for 20 minutes, while the whole hall wondered what elder had originally been assigned the talk and why he backed out at the last minute.
So that's Jim Fleming for you - can be relied upon to give convincing rants on porn at short notice.

I knew John hobdurns MIL she studied with me and was very black and white. It was no surprise her daughter married a CO who was very similar.
