I have seen it happen to a cousin of mine who is now out of the Watchtower. She was having relations with another member the eve of her baptism, so that was used to annul it a few months after the fact when the information became available to the elders. Because of the annulment she currently enjoys complete severance with the Watchtower and lives happily with her new husband. Her husband is in disbelief of the stories she has and offers her a good support system with himself and his family.

Ha...I didn't have my glasses on....I thought the emocion to apostatethunder was holding a gun....
They lured me under false pretense! They told me unconditionally that they were gods appointed/inspired chosen orgainization and their literature was also inspired of god. Come to find out they now admit in many WT publications they are not. They taught me that the U.N. was bad association, yet they were snuggling up to the U.N.
You have the power to annul it yourself. Baptism is not a legal status. The only power the WT has over you is what you let them have. You can make a baptism certificate with Word, import images. I would stomp on the paper and then burn it. You can write a letter of declaration that you now realize your baptism was a total fraud from the beginning. Baptism is not magical. The Holy Spirit can work in the nobaptized. I am a Christian now and would opine that I was never baptized in Jesus' name. The vast majority of Christians of almost all denominations proclaim that jesus is God. The WT lacks the power to baptize people, IMO.
If you think about it, John the Baptist baptized Jews before Jesus' ministry or at the beginning of it. It is not clear to me how those Jews viewed their baptism by John. Only a few of the Baptist's disciples followed Jesus. John's baptism wasn't what we consider baptism. There were no fancy creeds. So without Christology, what did it mean?
They say Jesus but they baptize in the name of YHWH. You received a YHWH baptism, not a Christian one.
Mind blown, hopefully you can help your family get out as well. The good news is you are free. Forget about the baptism.
I know someone that researched this with her son. She had found he was 'actively' doing some non JW things at the time of his baptism. Then he was DF'd. She looked into the possiblity that the baptism was not valid since it was based on false pretense (that he was living the life of a JW).
Apparently there was some provision for this, but I imagine it is nearly impossible to get done. I'm sorry that you probably won't be able to undo what has been done. I'm sorry you lost so much.

What about them not living the live of a JW?
Don't waste time and energy on the WTBS and their rules matey, move on and be happy, that's the best revenge.

I have heard of it actually. My friend Mark Goodman. Lia goodman from El Monte, (Mark's mother) had her baptism "annulled" (I'm not sure that they used that word though) because she felt that she wasn't really honest about it the first time. And so she got baptised again. we all knew her for years, since I was a kid, and then all of a sudden, at age 50 or so, she is there at Woodland Hills Assembly Hall getting baptised again. So, it has happened. I'm not sure if anybody would even play ball with you in terms of actrually taking you seriously if you weren't a practicing member. I think they would probably blow you off. But if it can be done, i would try to do it. I think I am going to look into in fact since you brought it up. I think I was coerced as well, and I would love to get a letter acknowledging that I was never baptised.
This may be a novel way to get your family to talk to you again in fact.
And yes, apostatethunder, go f### yourself off.
What do they have to gain for themselves by agreeing that they are illegitimate and without power? Perhaps if you knew just the right person at Bethel and made a generous cash donation..........
Perhaps if you had the noteriety of Manson..............
60 Minutes could not get anyone at Bethel to use their name for the record.
What I said about no power is only if you do not have family and close friends. I recall anxiety attacks about losing family acceptance. Fear keeps us in. Yet I don't think many people can kiss off their families without a second thought.
