Today I had some time to see the Sparlock movie.
First at all I want to thank my JW parents for giving me a free youth within the JW belief. I was gifted with a great fantasy. I played daily characters like tank general (on my bike), secret service employee (behind the couch), the family wizard (with tricks) and soldier... My parents knew it, and loved it.

Yes I agree which is why the contol is getting tighter...we escaped!
The control may be squeezing tighter and tighter until there is nothing left to squeeze.

That's true, which is a problem for them. Why do you think they released it?
After watching for the second time I released it has a two fold effect.
First, the fear and guilt associated with making god sad controls you now. But second, the constant disappointment of having anything or anyone you actually liked taken away from you sets you up to be ready for the disappointment of the ever changing date of Armageddon.
It is my hopes that parents will continue to neglect these videos for what they are, crap. As long as there continue to be liberal JWs within the Org, the Society will always have a thorn to deal with.
Just a question for Gorbatchof - Would you characterize your parents as "strict" jw's. It is true in my experience/opinion that what you write is true in many a jw household. It's like jw parents that took any socializing with the "world" for themselves or their kids really serious or not. For the ones that take the bull real serious these stupid video's will be a pain for the kids. BUT i really think the big hoopla that they are receiving is how stupid they are. And how they once again make the org look like dunces. We want to discourage magic toys so what we will do is create one. Smart, real smart.

Well it is NOW!
No JW parent would dare let their kids have ANY sparlock-type toy after this release, that's for SURE.
What bothered me alot was people saying from the stage "this is what we should do brothers and sisters" then go home and do whatever. They pride themselves on being truthful and straight so tell it like it is and don't play games that's so hypocritical and we were not all on the same page.i couldn't play the pretend game anymore.
Whether it is representative of all JW families or not is not the point.
It IS representative of what and how the WT Leadership wants all JW families to think and behave: Listen, Obey and Be Blessed.
Of course those same WT Leaders cannot actually deliver on the "blessing" part of this implied cause and effect relationship.
If it were a contractual arrangement they'd be guilty of fraud for making promises that they cannot keep.
