@ therevieler: my parents are 2 nd and 3 th generation JW. My father was elder, secretary of the congregation. Like many JW's in the Netherlands, they are liberal. They say "look at the good things of the organisation and ignore the bad things". My father told me last year "don't be so difficult. There are peope who collecting stamps, and there are people who are members of JW. Take it easy".

My father says also "It's a way of living".

@ Gorbatchov - How wonderful if more could follow that course. And yes I new ones from both camps (so to speak) when I was in. My kids were not pushed or worse forced to get baptized and that worked out for the best for both them and us.

OMG, that thinking makes me FURIOUS!

Apparently culture takes precedence in the Netherlands, u would rarely hear a comment like that in the states.

One thing my wife and I agreed on with this video. Isn't it already hard enough on JW kids? It's a life of growing up an outsider and friendless in school or the community. Even if a JW child ventures outside the direction of their parents and tries to develop school friends, the WT has them so dumbed down socially that they end up friendless to even the devoted nerds in school who show up in Star Wars costume in school. Wifey was a bit distraught after watching it and really didn't need to see the whole thing. As soon as she saw the face contorting at the word, "friend", she had enough.

"My Bible Lessons" - WT feature for infants 3 and Under

For those that are interested in discussing the broader issues concerning the WT's agenda to indoctrinate children, particularly the very young, I created a related thread addressing the relatively new WT feature "My Bible Lessons". These two page "lessons" which appear in the Public version of the WT about every three months are specifically designed for infants "Age 3 and Under" and their parents.

Caleb of Sparlock fame made his debut in the most recent MBL.

    Gorb,

Is your father talkin' bout Jehovah's Witnesses who collect foodstamps ????

if he is, it is not a way to make a living, turnin' down fulltime employment

to work for free for the WTS. That's freeloadin'

And if this DVD don't represent All JW's, those JW's are livin' on the down low

leadin' a double life, peddlin' mess D2D they don't even believe

    and that's a low down dirty shame....................scandulous

Yall know better, it's all or nothin' no fence sittin' wit the WTS

@ all: in the ' 70 Gorby was not allowed to see magical TV series. ((:

Later on my father became an advisor of local politicians. He stayed JW, stepped down as elder and became MS. He still is.
