We get joy from beholding the grandeur of the universe... it has purpose and meaning........ how hollow a feeling to see it's wonder and have no one to thank !

Mankind is not just a walking ,thinking machine , we live by spirit

Nice to see you posting again snowbird

During this year and last year I have attended a few Shambhala meditation sessions, also been in some churches. I am not a believer but I do things like this to help keep a balanced view and explore different spiritual paths and philosophies.

Tolerance is necessary to be at peace in a world that holds many different views. Being with kind people is more important to me than the beliefs they presently hold.

I got out before the WTS could steal away my belief in Jesus

that's the way the Devil work. He wants to leave a bad taste

in your mouth when it comes to spiritual things

I don't claim to be Holier than thou, cuz I can be one salty tongued sister

rubbed the wrong way, But Jesus understands, I ain't perfect

I still count myself as a believer, even if I find myself to be skeptical.

There is no "absolute certainty" but what is the opposite of faith ? ...I would think doubt and uncertainty......... so rather than spend your entire life on doubt and questionings, think about this.

Rather than absolute certainty to be required why no enjoy absolute faith ? consider.. No question can be greater than this... (add in this logic and reason )what is more likely, that God exists or God does not exist? If God did not exist, then everything in the universe is just happened by chance and coincidence. I find that hard to believe; science continues to unwrap the mysteries of the universe that shows there is a definite pattern of laws that are too intricate and complicated for me to reasonably believe that were caused by accident.

A person could travel down many pathways of questions and wonderings but at some point you grow weary ... you need a home along the path for rest, peace and comfort ...... the spirit yearns for connection , meaning and hope.

I believe that even in the darkest night, a candle glows!

Gladiator, you are a man of good balance, me thinks.

I go both ways. Hope you all won't mind if I stand in the middle and solicit kisses....

Could you explain a little better what you mean here, Shamus?

    Oh, lest I forget.

Caliber,How Great Thou Art was one of the first songs I learned at our little mission school.

After 48 years, I can still recall the words and the feel of the Spirit coursing through my being as I sang with all my little heart.
