Thankfulness has ripple effects like a pebble it sends waves across the water to others ! FHN thanks for sharing things of beauty & hope
There is still beauty and joy in the world today it is how we perceive things and what our spirit chooses to dwell on
Drop a word of cheer and kindness:
Just a flash and it is gone;
But there’s half-a-hundred ripples circling on
and on and on,
Bearing hope and joy and comfort on each splashing, dashing wave
Till you wouldn’t believe the volume of the one kind word you gave -
THE GLADIATOR
Thanks for those pictures.
I am now using those pink flowers - top right - as my screen saver, I liked them so much.

I'm so glad that you enjoyed the pictures. You're welcome. I feel the awe of a child when I see wildflowers. One of my favorite memories is of the March I gave birth to my daughter in Houston, TX. There were oceans of bluebonnets blooming everywhere. I affectionately call it our bluebonnet spring. Later James Hooker, Nanci Griffith, and Danny Flowers wrote a song called Gulfcoast Highway, which sings of bluebonnet springs. I've had at least one other bluebonnet spring in recent years. Texas during bluebonnet bloom is gorgeous.
GULF COAST HIGHWAY
Original Nanci Griffith version
Gulf coast highway, he worked the rails
He worked the rice fields with their cold dark wells
He worked the oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico
The only thing we've owned is this old house here by the road
And when he dies he says he'll catch some blackbird's wing
And we will fly away to heaven, come some sweet blue bonnet spring
She walked through springtime when I was home
The days were sweet, our nights were warm
The seasons changed, the jobs would come
The flowers fade, and this old house felt so alone
When the work took me away
And when she dies she says she'll catch some blackbird's wing
And she will fly away to heaven, come some sweet blue bonnet spring
Highway 90, the jobs are gone
We kept our garden, we set the sun
This is the only place on Earth blue bonnets grow
And once a year they come and go
At this old house here by the road
And when we die we say we'll catch some blackbird's wing
And we will fly away to heaven, come some sweet blue bonnet spring
Yes when we die we say we'll catch some blackbird's wing
And we will fly away together, come some sweet blue bonnet springThis is the original version she did as a duet. (I lived near Hwy 90 in three states along the way in my life. Mobile, AL, Morgan City/Bayou Vista, LA and Houston, TX.)

Qc, it's been found that looking at flowers, especially real flowers, stimulates the release of endorphins. Men love to grow flowers as much as women do. And we give flowers to cheer people who are ill, for people who are grieving and for happy occasions as well. There is science behind why people love flowers, whether they be real, artificial or copied in works of art or photographs. Chocolate releases endorphins, too.
