OK so let's play what if. . . ?
What if we are wrong in saying that the WTS and JWs are not handling sexual abuse cases properly?
- People won't believe us. In fact few JWs would believe us.
- Some people might believe it and take extra precautiions.
- Some JWs might decide to go to the police before they call an elder
- Some kids might get the help they need
- Some sexual abusers might go to jail
- Some abusers might start abusing non-JW kids
What if you are wrong about how the WTS and JWs handle abuse allegations?
- Abuse allegations will be qietly dealt with and no one will find out.
- Abusers will be free to find new victims or continue to abuse the ones he already has.
- Personally I would rather that people are warned that there are sexual abusers in the congregations (alleged or found guilty in a court of law). I would prefer that those parents make sure the abuser never has access to their children
Accepting that the WTS is wrong about something as important as this makes me wonder what else they are wrong about? This website has a very well documented section of issues that demonstrate clearly just how wrong the WTS is about almost everything.
So help me out folks. Answer the questions.
- What if the WTS/JWs are wrong?
- What if you are wrong about them?
- What would that mean to you?
I will add some thoughts later on
