How do you deal with your "down" time?

By that, I don't mean so much what you do in your leisure time but how you manage the freedom to choose what you will or will NOT do. Off the WT treadmill, I no longer feel guilty about what is now my neglect of theocratic activity; however, after a nonstop week such as I have just lived through (barely), I am doing nothing, going nowhere, and accepting no new obligations (for the moment).

I can stare at the sky, enjoy the beautiful day and not worry that demons are rushing to fill the void in my empty skull.

    You?

Same here CC. I had to truly learn to accept down time as a pleasure. I learned to unwind and relax without guilt. It is very liberating.

COCO, I have been going to University since about 1992 except for about 5 years that I took off. I finally decided to stop going last January. I feel so free now. I work three night out of the week so the other four nights I do what I want; sleep as long and late as I want. I may get up at 2 am and get on the computer or read and drink wine. I like to say that I am the boss of me. I have been out of the organization since about 1982 so I have forgotten what a hold they had on our lives. I am just now remembering how bad it was by reading what is going on at this site. Yes, it's great to be free from their constant demands on our time and energy. I cannot believe how much more control they want, even telling convention delegates what they can were when they go out to eat. It's wonderful to do as us to do as we please.

Thanks, Sheep2, CC, clarity and PHG, for sharing how you feel about your freedom. I guess we're on the same page now, though some time back we were on the same but different page!

    Gratefully,

This time of year its all about the Dead Heads. I love snipping them off. You need to cut them off at the pont in the stem with a five leaf cluster, not three, for proper new rose growth. Learned that last year.

Drying herbs for friends and family. Just got to watch that darn neighbor cat that I caught spraying my nona's oragano. Oh, I think I'm turning into her. My Nona that is. But, that's a good thing.

Waitning on the tomatoes is not as slow as watching paint dry, but close. But who cares when your catching some rays. I mean getting your vitamin D.

Oh, and my private pleasure , a manicure. That I end up destroying in the yard, but I smell good....smile.

It's so nice being off the rat wheel that was my old JW life . I can relax and not feel like I could be doing more. That Tuesdays, Thursdays, Sundays and Saturdays are not bad days. And I can give to UNICEF too.

Hope all is well with you CoCo.

    All is well, Eva!

Thanks for sharing your delightful day(s) with us. I, too, like to deadhead (including rodies) and wish a couple of my roses would not get back spot. They still bloom, but all the leaves drop off. Turning into your nona is, as you said, a good thing.

    All the best,

    Good Evening Coco..

Today I had a spectacular view of the scenery I live in,on my way to the city..

The drive back was even better because..

    I was going home to Mountains/Rivers /Streams /Waterfalls/Lakes..ect..ect..

    It`s after 9:00PM now..

I`ll make dinner, a few Strawberry Magarita`s,watch some TV..

Then sleep in Fresh Forest Air..In the comfort of my own home..

When I get up in the morning..

I`ll take a cup of coffee out on the back porch and enjoy the view..

You can`t do that in a Kingdom Hall..

    Or..

Out banging on doors of people you don`t know..

So you can irrittate them with the Threat of Death and WBT$ Literature..

Sounds like a good day, OUTLAW.

My surroundings are not quite as wild as yours but close enough that I can enjoy the same things. Especially love the morning joe on my patio that looks over the pool, garden and out into the woods.

    Thanks for tuning in.

    Take care,

    CoCo
