I hate to hear it.
I grew up watching Andy of Mayberry.
My family and I went to No Time For Sargeants at the Drive in movie when I was really young. My dad was in the Marines, and even though I was so young I didn't understand the humor, I enjoyed it because my dad laughed so much!
Andy of Mayberry had good humor...it was a wholesome,clean, family oriented show. As Aunt Bee would say, "Ohhhh, Andy!" RIP
Sad loss. I grew up on the Andy Griffith show and you just don't find good TV like that any more. Andy and Barney could keep you entertained and make you laugh without cussing, dirty jokes, shock content, they just used good acting and comedy.
Andy RIP
He had a smile that would light up a room.
Maybe that's how he would like us to remember him.

Does anyone else remember a record he made that somewhat mimicked Shakespherian poetry. It was sometime in the late 60s I think. What I remember of it (example) in his most southern drawl:
Lo, when ah saw mah luv'
She wuz standin' bah th sea;
But alas, ah cannot ketch mah luv,
For she is swift, an out-runneth me.
It was a whole two sides of a record of such poetic nonsense. I loved it. The world has lost a genius.
