I personally have always been under the impression that (if) enough elders are thrown under the bus. then more will quit.
Who knows? Alot of them enjoy prominence!
But, you guys are 100% right that since the WT has written on paper that all witlesses are ministers, then? (you got, all bets off!)
If the WTS went down in smoke tomorrow you can be assured that the GB and their Bethel heavyweight cronies will have enough salted away in some offshore accounts to see them in luxury somewhere for the rest of their lives.
Don't count on any of these guys lining up at the JobCenter anytime soon.

Hi redvip2000 .....info on the Conti case is the WTS "did try" to settle with Candace (not sure how many times) so they had no choice, they were hauled into court because they were being sued.
I know there's a lot of down right A hole JW's, but there's many who are good mis directed people. I can''t help but think when the great depression hit some hurled themselves from windows. When it all comes crashing down the emotional effect on those who sacraficed so much or lost souls because of not having direction to think for themselves....... then again maybe many will be so relieved from the WTS clutches.... many are thick skinned and will transcend this....as far as the GB and the corp is concererned I think you're right St. George...they will sail off with their hidden accounts $$$
I am hoping that we are seeing the deck beginning to slope. Even if that is the case, it may still take some time for the vessel to sink. If that happens what then? How many of the rank-and-file will choose to go down with the WTS rather than abandon ship? What will happen to all those traveling overseers, branch committee members and special pioneer types? Many of them have given their entire lives to the WTS and have nowhere to go should it go down. They have no retirement, no savings, no insurance, in short they have nothing to sustain themselves.
Many may choose to believe that the coming storm is the attack from Satan's hordes they've long been expecting, but what will they think if Jehovah does not come to the rescue and everything they've hoped for is laid waste?
All right, I'll admit I'm running way ahead and none of this may happen. The WTS may successfully face down this challenge in the same way it faced down and ultimately outlasted avowed enemies like Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union. But what makes this fight different is the fact that the challenge is coming from within the organization rather than without. The feckless Governing Body won't be able to silence these critics or easily neutralize the negative publicity their court cases will create. The next few months and years will be very interesting.
