With all of the changes that the organization has been making in the recent years -the public and study editions of the watchtower, the simplified versions, the new songs whose vocal renditions have a faint touch of modern Christendom, getting heavily into the real estate business, having plans to build and expand up to at least the year 2020 despite their claim of the end being "very soon", the recent change of heart for the Internet, the credit card machine donations, the new arrangement of giving the brothers the "great" opportunity to give all of their money, homes, personal possessions to the organization upon death (basically putting them in their will), the confidetial letters about every little thing, etc.- it really makes it all look more like a business than a religion.
You know, fast forward 50 or 60 years, maybe less, but before Armageddon anyway ......I can see the organisation making more changes. Their own credit card is less than 10 years away. Maybe less than 5. We all know charities that issue their own credit card and make plenty of income from it. The WT won't be far behind.
The next thing will be their version of a currency. They won't call it that, because everyone must still respect the civil administration where they live, but there will be an alternative currency, exchangeable within the WT. Then brothers (and sisters) with their own businesses will be able to use this currency (on preferential terms, with the Society naturally taking a cut, for Jehovah of course.)
Not far after that will be their own Bible-based legal system, a genuine legal system that has been negotiated (toughly) with the civil authorities, in the same way that countries will recognise and respect Sharia law for Muslims. Jehovah will have made it clear to them that they are the first step in the Armageddon process. Don't even question it, that judgment is reserved for Jehovah. He speaks through the GB, doesn't he? Well, then, this stage is obvious.
You think this is all fantasy? No, these changes are consistent with the opening post, which correctly perceives the tide running through the WT changes. NB: they will have been planning these for years, yet in 2010/11 the District Conventions were issuing stern wanirngs against the Internet in all its evil forms. Only last autumn did one or two good things about it begin to be mentioned. Now there's no stopping the flood.
