"Oil companies" are actually in the energy business. They get oil and gas because that is the most cost effective energy product for many applications. They have built up infrastructure to do this. If another energy source becomes more cost effective and practical, these energy companies, or companies they are investing in, will move production into those areas.

For an example of this, think about "record companies" and how much vinyl they are selling these days.

Oil Companies along with major Banks are the ones how control the World today. Most of the wars (yeah the ones that supposed to bring freedom to the supressed Arabs)are happening to take control over the oil.

Nicolas Tesla, had invented many things, but most of that went down the drain, because They couldn't make a good profit. Tesla had removed the engine of his car and he turn it into electric car, back in 1920's. Earth has FREE energy for ALL. Free and most important GREEN energy, but those who control the World, they are not willing to loose their money and power, and proceed with alternative Green Energy Solutions.

I mean they build a car that runs with water, but no Car Company will ever produce that, since Car Industry is associated with Oil...
