The reason I just can't believe in god

What's strange about people's relationship with god is that they tend to cut him an awful lot of slack, despite the fact he seems to be quite a jerk.

If your next door neighbor just happened to be god, would you make the same excuses for him as you would an invisible entity?

For instance, if your neighbor left a big big of smelly garbage outside your doorstep, you'd think, "Wow, what an asshole! What did I do to deserve this?"

But if god somehow left a big smelly bag of garbage outside your doorstep, you'd wonder, "I wonder what he is trying to tell me. . . Hmmm. . . Maybe this is a test of my patience in dealing with pungent smells. How loving of him to help me with this!"

If you want to believe in God, read the bible.

Many people who do exactly that, read and study the bible turn away in disgust and find such bible study to cement the view that there is no god, or if there is it certainly isnt the desert storm god worshipped by the Israelites.

James Brown - Life is hills and valleys ups and downs, enjoy the ride.

After having just discussed the Holocaust, this is a terrific understatement don't you think? When it goes down, it goes way, way down.

You can believe in some kind of misanthropic God I suppose; caring neither way, helping or hindering people on a whim for no motives other than his own amusement. If this is the God you promote, reading the Bible for validation might make sense.

Of course we could just play pretend for the rest of our lives and dream about the wonders that await us on the other side of the fence.

I have read the bible cover to cover 7 times.

At about the 5th time, lost faith and became an agnostic.

Now going on my 8th read my faith is rekindling.

The desert God pointed to Jesus.

    Jesus is the answer.

I spent 30 years denying God. Now in my twilight years, I see the light.

Maybe someday you will see the light maybe you will never see the light.

Maybe you will see a different light.

One thing I know is many here do not know what I am talking about or understand.

    I'm Ok with that.

I cant prove my believe and no one else can prove their belief or lack of belief.

At the end of my belief is eternal life.

At the end of non believers belief is nothing. Scientifically documented.

That's nice your filters have recovered.

I was a born-again evangelical for 9 years after leaving the Watchtower. I even preached regularly.

I believe that MY GOD created the Heavens & earth. LOOk at the wonderful beauty ...But I also believe that another created being said HE would get all on earth to worship HIM( SATAN) God allows all of HIS created beings to have free thought .He could have made us robots to obey ....I believe Satan has been allowed to prove his threat.I also believe Satan has MANY followers, ( they do as HE tempts them to do,) Murder, sex abuse( although MY GOD gave sex as a wonderful gift)Hatred, jealousy, etc: etc:

I do believe MY GOD will eventually step in...But if he did it right now. He too would be a liar. Look at all that is going on.....Cant you see who is in charge >>>>THE DEVIL... We "make" kids,( since we are in HIS IMAGE)
but once they get out of DADDY"S arms. Can WE make them do "OUR" will???I dont think too many can ....Only those who have asked JESUS to take over their hearts. to guide lead, & direct.... seem to be able to believe.

If Satan is in charge he is really rubbish at his job. Life is good for many believers and unbelievers alike.

Cofty in my opinion God made the believer and you, the unbeliever.

God wrote a book and we are acting it out.

We are all parts of God and someday we will find our way back home.

The hell that people experience is their seperation from God and being lost not finding their way home.

Cofty there is nothing I can say to make you believe, that is between you and God or you and nothing, or you and

    your understanding of your world.

I know I'm going to die, I know everyone dies, bad things happen.

I dont spend my time dreaming about the other side of the fence.

I spend my time living my life, doing things. I've lived 60 years and I have observed everyone dies.

My guess is I spend far less time thinking about what happens after I die than the atheist do.

I spend far less time trying to justify my beliefs than the atheist do.

This will be provocative. I know God or life has allowed many terrible attrocious things to happen to untold

    numbers of humans and animals.

But my research about the hollicaust is the hollicaust is not what you are lead to believe.

History is written by the victors.

The Jews aka the USA/England won world war 2, their plan all along was to reestablish Israel, which did not exist before

world war 2. I think they embellished the attrocities of war to win sympathy from the world to reestablish Israel, to steal the

    land from the palastinians.

I dont know if that is a good thing or a bad thing, My God allowed it. It seems to be the plan in his book,

the bible, the reestablishment of Israel and the world being ruled from Israel.

God is no respector of persons, we all die, some more terrifyingly than others.

I have no problem with anyone being an athiest and having a differnt world view than mine.

I guess we will all find out whats going on after our last act.
