I just signed a petition to put a stop to phony "gay cures" happening right now in France - and touring to another 9 countries.
This has to stop - these "gay cures" are extremely dangerous and so damaging it drives many to self-harm and even suicide. With sessions planned in 9 more countries, France must lead the way.
Signatures will be delivered to the French government on Thursday, there is no time to lose. Will you take a stand now?

Signed. On May 17, 1990 the World Health Organization removed homosexuality from the list of mental illnesses. Time for religions to get with the 90s.
And what is the disease? If your endocrine system is messed up and you are gay, you should be worried only about getting your endocrine system fixed. If that cures the non-disease, so be it. If not, no need to go farther. If you are gay and "otherwise" in optimal health, there should be no attempts to cure you--they may cure the non-disease and create a major medical problem that wasn't there to begin with.
As for the other major type of gayness (the hang-up type), the cure is in removing these hangups. Again, it probably will do nothing more than making a person go from being gay and unhappy, to bisexual and more happy. Removing the hang-ups, not removing the gayness, should be the objective. And preventing hang-ups in the first place is better. Religion that teaches that sex is dirty, or that homosexuals are perverts, is the real disease and has to go.
