If it happens, I don't know what to have Ringo sign. My idea is to have him sign a photo of Ringo that was sent to me when I was thirteen b/c I was a member of the official Beatles fan club.

That sounds like a lot better plan than asking him to autograph an issue of "The Watchtower."

P.S. No wonder you became "an apostate," having allowed yourself to become a fan of such evil, worldly music!

I remember THe Beatles from their first time on Ed Sullivan, but somehow their music never moved me. Have to be honest, the song Come Together I absolutely love !! The lyrics make absolutely no sense at all by I love it !

Band on the Run

One of my favorite personal Beatles stories involves Ringo. I camped out at Madison Square Garden to get tickets for both Bagngladesh concerts. They were not supposed to go on sale until 9 am but the crowd was so large that the police wanted it cleared before the morning commute. Thak God they boarded up every window. The crowd was not out of control but with the surge, we would have been hurt. I will never forget seeing my first Beatle in person. George walked out before it started and gave us a strict lecture about respecting Ravi Shankar. Shankar plays forever. Talk about impulse control.

George opens with a few songs. Ringo is way back behind a drum kit. He starts to sing "With a Little Help..." and "Octopus Garden," the works. After a few notes, a section of the ground floor suddnenly yells "we can't see Ringo. We want to sing Ringo." Next, the entire place was stomping their feet, screaming, " We need to see Ringo!" over and over again. The ground was bouncing a bit in rhythm. Roadies did nothiing. George and Eric tried to distract the crowd. We became more insistent, screaming at the top of our longs and jumping more and more. Finally, George and Eric stop playing. The roadies take about five minutes removing all the equipment and Ringo is center stage.

He was about ten feet off the ground. I've never seen anyone so transported into ecstasy. Some people were crying.

I think Ringo left the concert the happiest of anyone.

Bob Dylan practically took the concert from George. He was awesome. You would not believe. A few mos. later Bob did a commercial concert. I wanted my money back.

Band on the Run

It would be so cool to briefly explain the import of the WT, what I risked for their music. It would be the coolest. Maybe it would be worth more than any of my suggestions.

So funny. Very Beatlesque.

The Governing Body will get large copies.

The only thing that has been funnier here was when someone said to get even by leaving cheap rosary beads across a KH doorknob.
