    To All Posters So Far:

    Here's the real test.

    I'm sure this has been asked and answered in other threads and you can just point me there.

    But just in case it hasn't been asked, Here is my question:


    In John 1:1 why didn't Jesus just say "and the Word was an angel"????

    In this whole section of John is Jesus speaking to, probably, just his apostles, so he had no reason to confuse the entire issue with a vague or confusing description of who he really was.

    Consider that "a god" or even "god" for that matter is ALWAYS used in reference to "FALSE GOD/S", no exceptions I'm aware of. So why would Jesus identify himself with false gods.

    Unless of course, he said something else, like perhaps "and the WORD was GOD".

    Because an Angel means a Messenger, that is a job.

    John 1:1 remarks about his Divinity, that is a quality.

    I don't open that fiction anymore but I am sure that even believers teach that John 1:1 is not any words of Jesus.
