Like Beck, we've only been called on once in 3 years. No tracts in the mailbox or under the door either.
Another thing I've noticed: we never see field service groups walking along suburban streets. It's years since we saw one, yet one time it was a regular event. Anyone else noticed a rare sighting? Perhaps they're becoming extinct!
Cheers,
Ozzie

Some came two days ago.
As usual they started talking about the world, what do you think about this etc. - typical giveaway.
"They are of the world, therefore what they say is of the world"
Naturally they brought bad news and talked about bad news and the world. There was no "do not fear" stuff to let me know that it was the Lord.
They proceeded to try and flatter me, while scoffing at the deeds of others. After I plainly and firmly said NO to receiving their "good news", they wished for me to have a good day.
HONEY, THERE'S A STINKING DEVIL AT THE DOOR, COULD YOU TURN THE HOSE ON FOR ME.

We haven't heard from any in a long time, then right after the Holidays it seems we've been getting more and more visits. And thanks for the reminder, it's saturday morning and I need to lock the gate.
Never Squat With Yer Spurs On
I live in Las Vegas, for the past three weeks there have been witnesses in our neighborhood, but they for some reason walk pass my house as if they have blinders on.
Looks as if they are just making return visits but not getting any thing accomplish.
I have only been visited 3 times in the last 10 years. The last was about 2 years ago. I remember how the Society use to boast how most territories in the USA were covered at least once a month, and some even once a week. Since leaving, I have wondered if they inflated this report, or failed to understand that JWs were not covering things as often as they thought ... or maybe that JWs have greatly reduced their door-to-door work ... just don't know for sure.
Every time we have moved, my J.W. family contacts the local kingdom hall in my area and gives them my address so they can visit.
How thoughtful of them, huh?
I usually ask the J.W. some incriminating questions to bring back to their elders. For some reason the same ones never return.
I am tempted to keep some flyers "Questions for J.W.s" comparing J.W. teachings to contradicting scriptures by my door so I can just give them that but Im afraid they wont read it anyway. Ya' know, the apostate material thing.
It's a beautiful Saturday here in NJ and guess what! A whole family of JWs just pulled up across the street. They were turned away at two of my neighbors' houses and I [being the sneaky little Pagan that I am] let my big barkin' dog out to stand next to the sign on my fence that says "Beware of the DOG."
Worked like a charm! Only two houses and they packed up and pulled away. Maybe the two little kids who were with them will get to go play now rather than being dragged from house to house all day wasting their youth. I can only hope.

It's a beautiful Saturday here too (mid-sixties or so) and I'll be damned if I'd spoil that by letting those morons get a foot in MY door to make a shepherding call. Doin' the spring cleanin'!
