WALKTHEWALK- Welcome to the board ! Nice to have you here ! I certainly understand having doubts and feeling the need to stop attending meetings. I am 52 yrs.old, was a born-in JW as well and exited almost 9 years ago stopping cold turkey from attending meetings. Injustices I saw occuring towards others and myself, also I had doubts about the ever changing " generation " doctrine ( I refer to it more as a theory ) and I was one of those told I'd never raise children in THIS system of things. Doesn't that just beat all ? Now I've got one 27 yr.old son who exited years ago out of the Witnesses as well and two JW daughters in their mid 20's who choose to shun us.
As you know and realize it's challenging. Which you already know. If I may recommend some really great books which assisted me to realize HOW I was controlled in my mind by the WT society I would like to do so if it's O.K. ? The 3 books are written by Steve Hassan titled in order : " combatting Cult Mind Control " , " Releasing the Bonds - Empowering People to Think For Themselves " , and his NEW one which I just got in the mail today " Freedom of Mind - Helping Loved Ones Leave Controlling People, Cults and Beliefs ". They can be purchased relatively cheaply on Amazon.com or Steve Hassan's Website www.freedomofmind.com.
I know how lonely it can be when many former friends and family shun us due to our making a stand for our conscience. I'm mid-50's, exited about 10 years ago . . . similar.
Be sure to take the time to fully deconstruct your cult experience, using the fine resources suggested. It will help your walk from here. Ideally, you and your partner should try and travel together with it.

I haven't walked the walk since Jehovah didn't show up for the Watchtower's Balmygeddon in 1975. Realising that I had only been walking the walk of succession of nutjobs in Brookyn was a breath of fresh air.
