I think I would've probably tolerated the religion if "conscience" really did play a role in the religion. There are many people in religions that do not believe EVERY thing that is taught, yet they are still members in good standing. Of course, Jehovah's Witnesses aren't like that.
You HAVE to believe it all or you will be "no longer considered a Jehovah's Witness". That designation means you cannot be talked to, you will be shunned, etc.
If it weren't so strict, they wouldn't have so many members. The strictness works both ways.
I think the shunning aspects makes it even more cultic.

If they weren't self righteous arrogant theology Nazi's then... no I wouldn't be as critical of them... of course that would require them to be Christian though :)
Simple answer: NO.
It's their "total control of all things" that causes the personal pain and suffering that so many have to endure as a result.
If they were just another misguided religious group, who would care? Go on about your merry way. . . or leave. . . . no big deal.
For such a very small religious group, they inflict a lot of harm on so many "innocent" people.

My gripe has "nothing" to do with strictness and "everything" to do with the WTS being DECIEVING & SELF RIGHTOUS FRAUDS, huh, sounds like Satan of the bible.....
Nobody likes to be takem advantage of.
