Kind of reminds me of Rutherford.
Whatever that means. You should double down and say it kind of reminds of you of Hitler too. That would be awesome.
The beauty of Ryanair:
You don't like 'em?
Don't fly 'em!

Rule One:
The Customer is always right!
Rule Two:
Never call your customers stupid!
O'Leary breaks both of these rules!

Rutherford mouthed off about the establishment and his followers loved him for it.

Ergo mouthing off against the establishment makes you a Rutherford! As if the establishment today doesn't have enough crap worthy of criticism. It's awesome. Heh.
So more Cofty's Rule breakage from Jgnat. She apparently loves her some establishment. Really Jgnat? You can do better!
There really is no comparison between a rutherfordian religious cult and Ryanair along the kneejerk intellectually shallow lines proferred by Jgnat. Ryanair doesn't claim a hold on the TRUTH. It's just an airline, not a damned cult.
You don't like Ryanair? Don't fly Ryanair! Easy peasy!
Jehovah ain't going to destroy your eternal soul if you save a few bucks flying Ryanair. No one has claimed otherwise. Certainly not O'Leary. That's not Rutherfordian. And it appears people love his airline. People vote with their pocketbooks. Point A to point B for at over 500 mph for next to nothing? They roar: "sign me up!"

I've worked for bosses like him. He may be a success but I guarantee the organization will never be smarter than he is. Because he effectively cuts off ingenuity with his style.
It's an approach. It has it's upsides and it's downsides.
I prefer collaborative organizations where the combined intellegence of the entire organization is tapped. Like google.

Another exec with a "my way or the highway" approach is Charles Hurwitz. He orchestrated the hostile takeover of Pacific Lumber Company and transformed it from a sustainable company to a decimated one....for short-term profit.

Really? Prove it.

Awesome. Although you haven't shown me how Ryanair doesn't tap organizational intelligence (and also note how you ABSOLUTLEY do NOT back up your prior rutherfordian claims. You SHIFT THE DEBATE).
But let's go back to your organizational intelligence canard. Do you really think a leading airline can be built without it? Amazing. It's a thoroughly cut throat, low margin business. The economics of it are horrible. I'd never invest in it. You are really going to hate this part: Here's. how. it. does on the org intel front. I'd hate to be in your shoes. Arguing against proven success and overwhelming customer popularity in a rough neighborhood has got to be a tough row to hoe.

Please tell me how long Ryanair has been in operation? Has it been a short time or a long time? I don't remember.

Wow. I'm, amazed by the existence of a happy head. I wonder how that'd work in the airline biz? It's been around for a few decades, y'know. I'd love to see what Google looks like in 30 years. Maybe it'll look like Pan American or Eastern. But thanks for sharing your personal reference.
